Robert California’s Enlarged Member Rating: The Youngsters
Welcome back to the inaugural comparison of the youngsters that include the players draft top 20 in the last 3 drafts players that were picked in the top 20 of each draft. To illuminate those that do not know, the new formula where True Shooting Percentage plays heavily into the rating, and the rest is based on what the player does in the minutes they get on the court. FYI, there are no shitty assist polluting this f’n formula, cause passing the ball just allows someone else to score, and who wants to be the wingman at the bar, watching all his friends score. As promised the Ball in hand stat is back baby, because we all know everyone wants to have a ball. Anyone in red didn’t have enough minutes to make their stats statistically relevant.
First up we’ll look to see how the Juniors are doing, and it looks like a few have REALLY fallen off the radar. Donald Sunmit, Troy R, and Melvin M, are looking like teams will be happy when their rookie contracts are over so they can be cast aside.
So far the winning pick from the draft is Wagner Jr, a volume scorer with a good TS%, that doesn’t have the TO problems so many scorers have. He still turns it over, just not as bad as some of the other scorers on our list today. Miami has the #2 person on the Jr list with Victor. In some ways he might be the best since you can find scorers, but big men with a 3:1 stock ratio are rare. Bates and Drexel are really adding value to their teams, and Houston, Miles, and Watson are the honorable mentions of the class so far.
The Sophomores have thee guy on the list with TT destroying the competition. While he doesn’t get blocks, he gets the best of the stocks, Steals. Not only is he a volume scorer but the guy gets boards too.
Fisher and Alston are the honorable mentions with Bronny and Avery almost cracking that list. It’s two more years for Anderson, Trent, and McLellan taking up salary. Trent has posted a RCEMR lower than I have ever seen, and frankly didn’t think such a score was possible. Really I didn’t hink D Allen’s score was possible either.
And the Rooks
Outside of Hudson, no one is really making a huge case for themselves. Miller, Zo Lab, Mraz, and O Moe rally haven’t been given much chance to show their worth. Currently Sandhu is looking to be the sleeper in the draft with picks 2-6 mot doing as well as the god awful pick at 7. Sherwin though is kinda interesting, though it just may be there is no talent on the Celtics and the game says a team has to get some boards and point and he just is getting those, but he is getting boards and when he shots, he has a really good shooting %. He is looking like he has a good jump shot, no strength, inside, jump or 3pt, but OK boards and handles. He will never be a good or even great player, but may become a serviceable backup. His notes said Blocks and Boards, but… only one of those looks like it will be accurate.
Join us again when the season ends for a preview into who will win it all, as we glare into the unloving hell of statistics trying to prognosticate FBB sim engine….
Hope everyone has a great night
