4. Outside of your selections, who is your favorite pick?
5. Rank the top 5 picks. What order do you think they should've been drafted?
6. Now rank your top 5 non lotto picks.
7. Last question, are you a fan of pre 1st TC camping or do you like to see how a player does in pre/regular season?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
harold: I was hoping to jump obviously but I was very interested in trading out of the lottery if I didn't jump. Usually the lotto is run and the draft starts when everyone's on, and it's easy to get deals for your picks. My team's situation sucks, so I was hoping to line up deals for vets. I'd offered 9 + Wall for LeBron and 7 + Amar'e for Al Jeff, but I didn't get anywhere with those offers.
Play: I came into the draft planning to take the best player available at my pick. This draft had 5 legit players that I wanted. By having the #1 projected overall I knew I would get one of those 5 players since I could go no lower then 4. Bam was obviously the consensus #1 player in this draft. I would've loved to have him but Collins is the offensive big that I have lacked over my past few rebuilding efforts.
Andrew: I was hoping to stay at 5 and draft either Collins or Allen because it seemed like one or both of them would be there when I was projected to pick. Having excess bigs is always a good problem to have and I wanted to pair one of those guys up with Bismack for a pretty nice frontcourt duo.
Kobe: Didn't really have much of a mindset honestly was just hoping not to fall out of the top 5. Royal blessed me with Kyrie and I still ended up with Allen so very successful draft for me. Couldn't have really gone much better if I had planned it.
2. Now tell me about your selection and what made you choose your player? How will he fit in with your current roster?
harold: I would've taken Bam regardless of need because my roster is total shit and I love bigs. I picked him because of his notes & Spencer's responses about him. Great handles, blocks, and steals, elite d, etc. And he was in Spence's avatar!
Play: This time around I'm trying to construct a more balanced offensive type of team. The outside/fast pace offense got tiring for me. I want to switch it up and see how it plays out. I also usually just focus on defensive/rebounding type bigs but went away with that this time. John Collins potential inside/outside offensive abilities fit exactly what I'm trying to do.
Andrew: Landing at 2 was a big surprise. I was up in the air between Tatum and Mitchell because the Mavs had already taken Bam and I thought that Collins or Allen might be too much of a reach at 2. Tatum looked like he could be a stud if moved to the 3, but Spence’s notes about Mitchell being an elite scorer were really intriguing. Overall the bit about Mitchell’s handles persuaded me into Tatum and away from Mitchell.
Kobe: Easy selection for me as I traded down to 5 and Jarrett Allen somehow fell in to my lap. He was 2nd best player on my board so obvious to say I was happy about that. Perfect fit and exactly what I needed as he is already making a big difference for us.
3. One thing thats extremely important for young guys is camping. What is your camping approach going to be?
harold: I think Bam is going to have nice offense, but I mainly care about getting 3+ BPG and 13+ RPG from big, so blocks and defensive rebounding were automatic. Actually have no idea where I'm gonna give him the last +8. Strength is probably the best bet, but I want to see his offense first. He's scoring a ton this year and his FT% is way up, and B- C- looks like a nice foundation for offense from a big. IDK.
Play: Depends what you know they're good at already. Generally, if you're camping wings or PG's, you want to give them inside, midrange, and the 3ball. If you know they have turnover issues, then you give them some love in their handles. For big men, strength is probably the most important thing, followed by shot blocking UNLESS you think it won't make a difference, then you can punt that. If they're an offensive type, then you want to give them inside or midrange. If they're a defensive type, then give them defensive rebounds too.
Andrew: With Tatum I think his defense will come along with time and he just needs some small movements in rebounding to become a plus rebounder at the 3 so I am going to leave them alone. With that said I will most likely put all 24 points into his scoring, starting with 3’s and jumper first because I want to see that outside grade go up from B-. It’s a bit ugly to look at right now, but I think that will come with time. I could also see maybe camping strength or quickness if his scoring volume isn’t where I would like it to be, but that seems less likely at this point.
Kobe: I don't have the motivation to write any articles currently and posting is harder now but hopefully I can be more active soon. Im letting my team down not having any camps for them.
4. Outside of your selections, who is your favorite pick?
harold: Not gonna say Fox because he's the obvious one. Boucher. Was very surprised he was there so late. He's low strength, which I think means he's probably a decent rebounder to have C+. He's a good shotblocker and shooter, and he's on the cusp of C+ inside. Think Spence said he had good handles. Could see him being a B+/B+ big with good offense and 3+ BPG.
Play: Besides Bam, its easily Jah getting Fox at #10. Jah doesn't like to tank, so its hard for him to draft potential elite players because hes usually picking late lotto or mid first. Fox should give him a potential great PG that he can actually build around.
Andrew: In hindsight it has to be Fox falling to 10 and then Jah turning around and dealing him and picks for AD. A great sequence of events for Washington.
Kobe: Fox was great value for where he was picked, no idea how he fell that far. I had him top 6-7 on my board.
5. Rank the top 5 picks. What order do you think they should've been drafted?
harold: It's tough. I'm partial to bigs just because there aren't many elite ones, and I think Bam, Allen, and Collins all get there. But I see 30+ ppg from Tatum and Donovan too. I guess I'll go Bam, Allen, Collins, Tatum, Mitchell. I think they're all pretty much the same caliber of prospect.
Play:
1. Bam
2. Mitchell
3. Tatum
4. Collins
5. Allen
Andrew:
Bam
Allen
Tatum
Collins
Mitchell
Kobe:
#1 Jarrett Allen
#2 Bam Adebayo
#3 Deonte Burton
#4 DeAaron Fox
#5 Jayson Tatum
6. Now rank your top 5 non lotto picks.
harold:
Monte Morris--C+/B scoring, good handles and steals, Spence said he has volume. I think he could be Devin Harris after camps.
Boucher--see above
Harry Giles--high ratings + positive stocks, rebounding, and strength
Derrick White--no notes + good IRL with stocks so he's probably gonna be nice
Kyle Kuzma--just think he has higher potential than the guys around him, though he sucks IRL.
Play:
1. Derrick White
2. Harry Giles
3. Josh Hart
4. Kyle Kuzma
5. Chris Boucher
Andrew:
Josh Hart - Nice TC and went up in all the areas you want to see for a SG
Harry Giles - Not an awe inspiring TC, but he looks like he’s simming nicely
Derrick White - See Josh Hart, expect PG
Frank Ntilikina - Want to give jr some love here so maybe he will stop mentioning him so often
Chris Boucher - Love his outside and D going up. Needs some rebounding help though.
Kobe:
Uh most of these guys especially non lotto haven't really played enough yet but Ill go with Boucher, White, Collins, Giles and Hart
7. Last question, are you a fan of pre 1st TC camping or do you like to see how a player does in pre/regular season?
harold: It's an easy way to juice a guy's value. You get players developed early and people think they're on a much better trajectory than they actually are. It's also a good way to get a guy as close to 85 as possible so that he can get up to 90+ in a category, whereas if you don't camp him pre-TC he might get to 85 and you could lose the chance to get the rating higher. Otherwise I don't think it matters.
Play: Love Pre TC Camping. I will always max out my lotto picks if possible. I feel like it can help a player development during their first TC, especially if they are close to going up a letter grade.
Andrew: I like seeing how a player does in the preseason/regular season because you really don’t have an idea about one of the most crucial aspects of the game before they sim for the first time: handles. If I have a PG or a volume scorer I want to see them sim first. If it’s a big I am more inclined to camp before TC in the obvious areas (blocks/strength/inside/rebounds), but usually I want to see a new player sim first. I am also not a believer that camping pre-TC does anything beneficial for a player.
Kobe: Yea if you have the camps then you it definitely doesn't hurt to camp your guys before TC. Usually all depends on a guys potential though so if a guy doesn't get camped and doesn't explode his first TC, it's not always a bad thing.
