just stash extra money in money markets / 401s / etc even 100 a week for 20 years ends up being nice govt is a pretty good situation for long term security tsp has matching + lower fees than any 401k pension is an annuity equal to (number of years worked/100) * the avg of your highest three years public service loan forgiveness after 10 years if you do income based repayment come out way ahead in firms over the long run but it's a miserable lifestyle |

Wish I had got my gov job sooner. But gonna bail to the private sector soon(tm) as I wanna make some change over the next 8 years and retire. That said, will mainly be looking at 90%+ WFH jobs. |
