Having Kidd and Bowen are perimeter defenders is nice, since Ray is good enough to carry a scoring load

okay so houston did 29.2 ppg on 50% and 46.4% with 2.1 topg last year during regular season
during the playoffs he did 25.2 ppg on 42.3% and 46.8% with 2.5 topg
bowen held him games 2 and 6, but houston did season averages against him in the others
that could be worth 10m!

im not saying he's not good, im just saying outside of a terrible game 6 for houston im not sure he's worth $10m

okay so houston did 29.2 ppg on 50% and 46.4% with 2.1 topg last year during regular season during the playoffs he did 25.2 ppg on 42.3% and 46.8% with 2.5 topg bowen held him games 2 and 6, but houston did season averages against him in the others that could be worth 10m! makes a lot more sense to look at median performance and individual games than to average it out in a seven game series. houston's the best scorer in the league. gonna get him some games, but shutdown performances have huge value. houston went 7-21 and 7-27 in two out of seven games. also had a 9-19 fg, 24 pt, 5 turnover game and a 12-27, 29 pt, 4 turnover game. none of those games are even mediocre for houston

im not arguing he can't shut down a top notch scorer! he was great for me. im arguing value! that's a lot of money for a dude who has one job. yeah, i don't really mind overpaying in fa though. he's worth a good amount more than the mle, and he's signed for four years with no increases. i'll still have a max in 03, and i have the high end building blocks with birds, so i'm not sweating bowen's contract.

i don't get it. was bowen taking shots and missing? do i get fewer possessions if he doesn't shoot? or will the volume just go to better scorers? someone help me think this through!
