Article: BBS Franchise Rankings – First 30 Years
Every few years, we are going to tally up the results and provide and update and “franchise power rankings” – a quantitative measure of team success that is not victim to the whims and agendas of a GM Ranking article would be. We have not done this in 5-seasons, so let us try. But how do we quantify success? Is it regular season wins? Titles? Playoff success? Tough to tell these days. We are going to run with this loose formula: 1 Point for a Regular Season Win
2 Points for a Playoff Win
5 Points for a Playoff Appearance
20 Points for a Finals Appearance
75 Points for a Title [Extra boost for this version, to try to help placate the RINGZ crowd]We are now THIRTY into this thing. Absolutely crazy. Time flies. Where do we stand?  |

maybe you should lower the points given for these.
2 Points for a Playoff Win
20 Points for a Finals Appearance
because Ive gotten plenty.. if i did such a bad job Seattle wouldnt still be 5th.

maybe you should lower the points given for these. 2 Points for a Playoff Win 20 Points for a Finals Appearance because Ive gotten plenty.. if i did such a bad job Seattle wouldnt still be 5th. Just because I must indulge you: In 16 seasons, you are 571-741 with 6 playoff appearances, 42 playoff wins, 2 finals appearances and 0 championships. Prorated over 30 seasons, that is the equivalent of 1069-1389, 11 playoff appearances, 78 playoff wins, 4 finals appearances and 0 championships. 1364 total points. #23. If you were the Sonics GM for the entirety of BBS, you'd be ranked 23rd of the 29 teams. So yes, Mark is/was/will be the only reason the team is relevant in this version. You stink. |

I have more finals appearances than the Bucks, Hawks, Magic, Blazers, Suns, Wizards, and Nuggets combined.
Also more finals appearances than the 76ers, Celtics, Clippers, Grizzlies, Spurs, Bulls individually

Also more finals appearances than the 76ers, Celtics, Clippers, Grizzlies, Spurs, Bulls individually but I stink LOL And yet, will have made the playoffs 6 out of 17 times and have a 42.3% regular season win %, which ranks 27th of 29 teams -- better than only the Magic and the Nuggets. |

Guess it’s ideal to be perpetually dominant but not all of us are from Ohio Finals only matter when it's not about me it's whatever It matters the same for everyone...the point system has been the same for over a decade, real-time! You suck so much in every other area, even a fairly high Finals Rate can't save ya. |

If it wasn't for Mark, the sonics would be a low point on your chart. |
