it's like the service industry. Bartenders and servers make all the money and cooks get shit Lies. Cooks get hourly wages higher then servers/bartenders. The servers and bartenders make tips cus they actually serve the guests not just cook the food. of course cooks get an hourly wage, but any server or bartender who is a baseline functioning human makes more pretty much 100% of the time. Often its 2-3X higher. I've never made less than a cook when I was a front of the house employee. It's all part of being a team and some team members that participate in the same end goal of putting out a decent product within a decent time frame end up getting screwed. |

The rest of the world seems to operate just fine without the tipping system. |
