Red Rockets Humpin Draft day extravaganza of lala paPOOPala
Draft jump predictions presented by Ms Cleo.
We all know I suck at evaluating talent so the fact my top 4 were so close to Don’s scares me for the possibility this draft class sucks.
I rated my top 14 and then compared as I didn’t want to be influenced by the Don Meisters picks, and was happy to see the top 4 must be pretty obvious, however from that point on I have no idea how we compared as I stopped comparing after that.
This prognostication also includes which picks are gonna jump in the draft, however it is based on BPA and not how some people might try and force a pick based on their thinking what they need for their team… oh wait I’m not drafting in the lotto… but Break is so…. Point stands
1. Milwaukee
Bob Pettit PF 6'9'' 205 22 B+ C+ C B B A
Elite inside and midrange. Good handles and post defense. Very good rebounder. Some stocks.
Bob edges out for the number one pick, though it really could have been Richie. More on Richie later, but Bob is what you need from a big when it’s not just about stocks, Points, Boards, defends the paint AND doesn’t turn it over. Should be a plus stocks guy too. This guy will be a day one starter and when Andy camps him, the sky could be the limit after TC.
2. Houston
If Ashan still had the team, pre marriage the number 1 pick would have slid to like #5 or 6, but this year it only slides one back and Broph takes:
Richie Guerin SG 6'4'' 195 22 B B B B C+ A
Elite upside. Very good scorer from all over. Solid handles. Some stocks. Good rebounder for a wing.
The Question is does Richie stay a SG or does Houston move him to SF and camp his boards? The Very good scorer from all over scares me a tad since he is only a B for outside/ jumpshot, was part of why he slide to two, that and he’s a wing and not a big.
3. Utah via LA
Ever since habes successfully litigated the curious case of a patron with a nut alergy being served Hazelnut Beer where he cleared the server of all charges out in San Francisco his draft picks have mysteriously been turning to gold, and this time will be no different jumping to the 3rd pick where he will draft:
Slick Leonard PG 6'3'' 185 23 C C+ B B C A
Elite handles, quickness and steals. Very good rebounder for a PG. Okay inside and midrange scorer.
Slick will get his volume cause he’s a PG, grab boards, pick the pocket of others, and wont turn it over. In a few decades people will say Shaun Livingston styled his game after Slick.
4. Seattle
Red Kerr C 6'9'' 230 22 C+ C D+ B B+ A
Solid. Can score inside and from mid. Solid handles. Some stocks. Good rebounder. Elite strength.
Red “Roc” Kerr cant drive 55, but he knows there is only one way to roc the ball. Red could easily be justified to go 2nd as he could develop into a shutdown big on the glass and protecting the boards. He has the potential to be up where Eagles Fly.
5. Minnesota
Gene Shue PG 6'2'' 170 23 C+ B- B- C+ C A
Good scorer. Solid inside and good midrange. Handles are solid. Some steals. Good rebounder for a PG.
The second best PG in the draft Gene “Blue Suede” Shue, heads to Eddie’s house, and has heard all about the parties at Tootsies and cant wait to show off his ability to score. This is one guy you can’t step on.
6. Milwaukee via NJ
Don McLane PF 6'4'' 220 22 B C- C B C+ B
Elite inside scorer. Some stocks. Okay rebounder. Handles are just mediocre.
Make no mistake, the music will not be dying with Don on the court once his handle issues are addressed. Without that Miss America Pie will not be available on Pie night in Milwaukee. While Don has a habit of driving his Chevy, we wonder if he’ll end up at a levee?
7. Boston
Al Bianchi PG 6'3'' 185 22 C B- A- C+ D+ B
Very good jumpshot. Good handles and passing abilities. Some steals. Poor rebounder.
In going with recent history, Boston will again have a PG that cannot board.
8. Boston via Cleveland
Red “Van” Morrison C 6'8'' 220 22 B- D+ C- B B B
Good post defender. Solid rebounder. Strong.
Boston brings in another Red man that while not splashy sometimes lulls you into the mystic with his methodical consistent good play.
9. Washington
Larry Costello PG 6'1'' 186 23 C+ B+ C+ C D+ B
Very good scorer from all 3 levels. Good handles. Doesn't defend or rebound much.
Boston was about to select Larry, when they realized they had just taken Al who was also a PG, so they took Red. Larry is prolific offensively, but his issue is he thinks D should be something done by his teammates and not so much him.
10. Philly
Bob Mattick C 6'11'' 225 21 C+ C D+ C+ C+ A
Good upside. Some stocks. Jumpshot and rebounding are ok.
Picking are starting to get slim, and Bob is the best big left on the board, and not many wings worth taking left in the lotto.
11. Golden State
Art Spoelstra PF 6'9'' 220 22 C+ C- C- B- B- B
Solid inside, midrange and handles. Some stocks. Solid rebounder.
Possibly a fringe 5th starter, or a pretty good backup 4/5
12. Portland
Red Davis C 6'7'' 220 22 B- C- D+ C B- B
Solid inside and midrange. Good rebounder. Some blocks.
The run on bigs continue
13. NY via Detroit
Dick Rosenthal SF 6'5'' 205 24 B+ C D+ B B- B
Very good inside scorer. Good rebounder. Solid post defender. Some steals. Not very quick. Handling is just okay.
Dick looks like he would be better off playing PF, but does he have the strength?
As a bonus the 14th pick will be
Tom Marshall SF 6'4'' 215 23 B- C C- B C B
Can score a little inside and from midrange. Solid handles. Some stocks.
With that I hope you have enjoyed this pile of poop...
