The league is stronger than it was last year. Billups is shooting poorly because he is not meant to sustain volume. He's an elite starting PG as a 3rd/4th option in an outside offense, and he'd do 20/7/4 on good %'s and D. As a volume scorer, he is not built to sustain. Hence, the low %'s.
His numbers this year are not flukey at all and it's not "Obv" he is a 25 PPG player on good %'s.

Dirk averaged 31/11 for the Warriors last year. That team literally had no one around Dirk and Billups.

This is a 60-game sample. It's not a fluke. His "true" production is likely in between his production from this year and last, but i would index more to the most recent sample.

Anytime you have to say "obv" to underscore your point, it probably means it's a bad point.

he isn't a 42% shooter even as a 3rd/2nd option

Has no flaws. Would probably slightly prefer Billups as a player just because Manu doesn't have a clear path to elite, elite volume given his camp history and wings are more replaceable. Allen is obviously >>>>> Bill. But Manu is "obv" more valuable than Billups in this moment because of contract status. Kobe could lose Billups if he doesn't offer to resign.

i mean manu shoots nearly 6 points better and 7 from three. the difference in offensive efficiency is massive.

If LeBron, Wade and Hinrich displace the bottom end of PG's, and CP3 + Deron come in next year, Point Guard will start to look deep. So positional strength could change quickly.

i mean manu shoots nearly 6 points better and 7 from three. the difference in offensive efficiency is massive. yea that's what we're discussing. it doesn't make any sense for BIllups to be shooting that bad when he has better jump shot and 3 point shot than guys. his inside isn't amazing obv but that hasn't stopped numerous PGs from thriving in outside offense
