Red Rockets hot ROD ready for humpin' Lotto in review
Gotta admit, I'm pretty surprised at how close I came for the Draft. Either Red is getting better or SpenceMan is getting more transparent. Lyndon Lee was the wildcard, and had forgot about the 10-20 potential people had to throw around. He could end up being the best pick of the draft. Some good grades and bad are designed to see if anyone is reading.
1 New Orleans Hornets (from Pistons)-Woody Sauldsberry
Woody Sauldsberry PF 6'7'' 220 23 B C D B B A
The Obvious 1st pick, and should eventually be an AllStar. The kind of guy Pig needed to get the NO dynasty back in business.
A
2 Dallas Mavericks-Hot Rod Hundley
PG 6'4'' 185 23 B- B- C B- C+ A
Dallas hopefully will be able to bring back Red so that they can have a Red, Hot Rod guiding them forward. If Dallas has a good FA, they should be back in business in the West.
A
3 San Antonio Spurs-Lyndon Lee
SF 6'5'' 175 22 C A- C B+ C C
In a way Lee looks to be the steal of the draft as he can play now and be damn good, based on his scouting notes. With the +20 potential, he could even get better.
A+
4 Toronto Raptors-Jim Krebs
C 6'8'' 230 22 C C D+ B+ B+ A
Was not shocked at all Krebs went before Tyra. Krebs is a Mandor type player, and gives us one more for the league. He's gonna vie for DPOTY at some point, however like them all, he's a liability for helping the team score.
A
5 Memphis Grizzlies-Charlie Tyra
C 6'8'' 230 22 C+ C D+ B B- A
Tyra should be just like Groza and get 15+/10 a game with ease, while being a pretty good defender. Memphis got a solid pick here and will be able to continue to build around him.
A
6 Phoenix Suns-Harvey Schmidt
SF 6'6'' 195 22 C+ B- C- C+ C+ B
Harvey scares me a little as his D looks week against the perimeter, and could end up being a liability on the court defensively. His boards are too weak to really try him at PF and see if he has better D there. Think one of the bigs was a better choice here, but time will tell.
B-
7 Toronto Raptors (from Trail Blazers)-Bill Ebben
SG 6'4'' 190 22 C+ B+ C- B C B
Nobody asked about Bill's jumping or inside ability? Curious pick here without knowing either of those. If he's a jumper, this pick is a bust.
C+
8 Washington Wizards-Win Wilfong
PG 6'2'' 185 24 C+ C+ C+ B C B
JAH went for need over BPA here. With the right 24 and a good TC though, Win could be winning games for the Wiz sooner than later. Does JAH have any ACs?
C+
9 San Antonio Spurs (from Celtics)-Jim Palmer
C 6'8'' 224 24 C+ C C- B+ B B
With the non athletic, he's not quick, nor a jumper. That sounds great for Jim's inside game. The guy has a nice jumpshot, but wont be taking any threes, just a great pick here for Royal.
A
10 Dallas Mavericks (from Warriors)-Ray Radziszewski
PF 6'5'' 210 22 C+ D+ D+ C B+ B
Cant wait to see what he looks like as a C, that Elite Post D, is the myths of legends. I really wanted the Spurs to wiff on Palmer, alas the Mavs ended up with the guy they were forecasted to get.
B
11 Milwaukee Bucks (from 76ers)-John Smyth
C 6'5'' 225 23 C+ C- C- B B B
Gonna be a good backup 4/5, but better at the 5. Nothing splashy, just a solid pick for the Bucks.
B
12 New Orleans Hornets-Lennie Rosenbluth
SF 6'4'' 190 24 C+ B+ C- B+ C B
His notes indicate he will score and not turn it over, just isn't a NY Stock kinda guy though. Looks like he's a really good defender, pump some +8-16 into his boards and should lock down the starting job in NO.
A-
13 Portland Trail Blazers (from Magic)-Alonzo Lewis
SG 6'3'' 195 22 B- C C B C B
His notes have PG switch written all over him. As a SG at best he's a back up as he has no volume with scoring, as his inside scoring is way low. If he works as a PG, he'll be the steal of the draft.
