Who wants another draft article??? I do! At least this one will be written with out Brian’s horny red rocket jokes. I actually wrote this entire thing pretty banged up while in an Uber last night after the eagles absolutely nailed day 1 of the draft. Written on my phone, posted on my phone. Will have to make her pretty post post.
1. New Orleans Hornets- Woody Sailsberry- B
Some would say this is the easy pick based off the notes and true scoring potential from Pf. But I think a lot of GMs would have gone a different route. Not a bad pick but seems like more of a 2 then a 1. However Pig has his 1 so this could be a need / preference pick. Flip side is Woody looks like a guy the pot boost and a good tc could turn into a rookie star. Pig finds his way into a lotto jump. Can’t say he didn’t try to trade it.
2. Dallas Mavericks- Hot Rod hundley- A
Hot Rod seems to be the best player in the draft based on historicals and notes. Brian traded for his pick and tanked with Red only to jump in lotto leaving the league in a burning rage. Hot Rod is a day 1 starter getting a pot boost and camps. Let’s just hope he’s not forced over to SG. Either way I take him to be pretty league ready as Brian resigns red and has a bunch of cap.
3. San Antonio Spurs - Lavon Lee - High risk A
Royal finds himself in Cy and takes a player with C scouted and boosts him up after questions revealed some very desirable traits. If he’s NBA ready off the rip it will be the best thing for a Royal here at 3. This could also totally back fire. Next two guys were safer picks but in his time away Royal has mastered gambling. 🎲
4. Toronto raptors - Jim Krebs - A+
Some are calling this the steal of the draft. Porno Haberman was caught trying to talk to Krebs mother at the draft and learned alot about him, declaring him the steal of the draft saying he should have been drafted at 2. He was quoted saying “Ma’am your son can rebound but so can I if you leave your dirt bag husband”. After the interview Porno continued to show us videos from his adult film shoots in the 80s. Skillz told the NYtimes that Krebs is the most impactful player in the draft and worth 15 late firsts. Good fit for Toronto because the entire team sucks balls and he can hopefully block and board day 1 giving Braz a positive thing to talk about.
5. Memphis Grizzlies- Charlie Trya- A
Tyra is the last of the clear picks as he could have gone as high as two with Alex Groza type notes. In the year of the pot boost Rex gets his hands on an impactful player who might be a little raw to start but I assume by year 3 will be the talk of the town. He comes in with good inside and mid plenty of upside and a solid foundation on stocks and boards. You want a starter in the top 5 this is good. Tyra the Tyrant terrorizing a post near you.
6. Phoenix Suns- Harvey Schmidt- C+
Harvey Lester Schmidt was an American composer for musical theatre and illustrator. He was best known for composing the music for the longest running musical in history, The Fantasticks, which ran off-Broadway for 42 years, oh wait wrong guy. Harvey looks okay as Spencer mentioned everything you want to hear. End of the day draft gets dicey around this part and I feel he’s a starter but some guys have more upside to make impact. Maybe im being too harsh with C+ but maybe not!
Giving myself a little too much credit here with a B but with pot boost I really liked his notes and foundation. Nobody asked about his inside but bill is a baller. We calling him Dollar Bill here on out. 💵. Second highest outside in the class, good rebounder with stocks. He went to B+ D at SF. What could go wrong 🤡. Steve was quoted saying “Ebben C+? Getting a potential starter there seems like a steal in this draft…” but no body saw because they were very focused on peanut butter sandwiches.
8. Washing Wizards- Win Wolfong- W
I think this is a pretty bad pick so ima just give it a W because the wizards from Washington wanted win wolfong. A W isn’t an F but maybe C range. He was apparently good in real life but that doesn’t mean Spencer doesn’t hate this man. Spencer doned him as at least a back up Pg. He was the last player in notes. All these little things make me hate it. But maybe that’s just banter in the words and he’s a WINner. Back up PGs can be useful though. Play has now traded for him so I’ll prob eat crow on this write up.
9. San Antonio Spurs- Jim Palmer- B
League seems to like this one and Brians draft article also liked this pick. I think that’s all good because royal doesn’t need him to be great but he needs him to flash potential and he kinda reminds me of Eddie Miller or a bigger dude who is slide to SF to find much success. Not athletic usually ends up a good thing here. I totally overlooked this guy. Apparently he was a Knick. Cool pick. Jim Palmer from the Orioles def better tho.
10. Dallas Mavericks- Ray Radziszewski- D
Brian took a pretty bad player who also will be inconvenient to search his stats bc his last name is mad long. Seems like a double whammmy from hell. Good scoring and rebounding with post defense could be interesting but what’s Rip Gishs value? A ticket to CY?
11. Milwaukee Bucks- John Smyth- B-
A man who can make the most simple name in history more complicated will definitely find a way to annoy defenders. He seems like a guy who could get starter minutes in his career. Bucks get a good grade here bc they are becoming a good team and good teams just need to draft depth contributions sometimes.
12. New Orleans Hornets- Lenny Rosenbush- A-
This is a good pick to me. Guy was someone I liked much higher who had upside as well love that a guy who could project volume scoring has good handles and rebounds called out. Quick replacement to get partial of what they lost in Twyman as Pig just sits on a gold course sipping beer with the best young roster in the league.
13. Alonso Lewis- Portland Trailblazers - B+
Lewis to me could have high bust potential because the jumping called out. But elite handles and jump shot with stocks? This could be a holy shit pick. Some would say DB did better here than I did with his pick at 7. I considered Lewis at 7 but couldn’t afford another bust on the team. I assume he gets the boost. Excited to see him sim. If he has volume he will be the steal of the draft
Other picks I liked
- George Brown 16 crazy he didn’t go lotto after Lee went 3
- Rayford Wells 17
- Chet Forte 22
- Jim Spivey 2.1
