Welcome back! This round table features a couple of our favorite young lads here. Joining us today will be Stevie B , Galo , nybombers3 , 2 years left
1. Who is the best player in the history of BBS 2020?
2 years left - This requires more research than I am willing to invest in. Kawhi was basically a perfect wing in his prime. Tim Duncan won like 10 MVPs. Overrated Curry could carry leftover FAs to a deep playoff run. Probably one of them.
Stevie B - I’ll give you the best big, wing, and PG of this iteration thus far. For big man, it has to be Tim Duncan. He won like a ridiculous 9 MVPs in a row or some shit, right? He was amazing. For the wing position, was there anybody remotely close to Kawhi? He might’ve been the most perfect wing we’ve had here. I think even Baylor might not ever get to his level because Kawhi was such an absurd defender. For PG, I think it’s obviously Steph, but LeBron was bonkers. I don’t understand how LeBron didn’t win a title as the focal point. So weird.
Galo - Steph in my opinion. he was bulletproof. Then I would say Duncan and KG to round out my top 3.
nybombers3 - Not sure. It's interesting because players like Curry, Duncan, Klaw, Giannis and LeBron were all pretty damn amazing and yet all have been equaled or surpassed by the amazing players in these past drafts. Duncan might be the only one whos numbers hasn't really been matched (i'm referring to the wild MVP numbers more so).
2. Who would you trade anybody on your team for?
2 years left - Oscar looks pretty good but not sure I’d trade Elgin for him. I’d probably spread the cheeks for Russell. Pretty happy with who I have though!
Stevie B - I like my team a ton, but the obvious answers are Bill Russell, Elgin, and Oscar…as well as Wilt, West, and Greer. I don’t have what it takes to get those guys anyway, so let’s go with somebody else. How about Jim Krebs. He’s like one of the more perfect defensive bigs in BBS. Huge fan of the lad.
Galo - Sources say Frank Ramsey for the Logo.
nybombers3 - Oscar. I had LeBron and it was fun having a wing that can play PG as well. Never had Cloud. Oscar being a top tier player in his rookie season is pretty wild.
3. Now that we have a sim and preseason sim under our belts, who is the better player, Oscar or Jerry?
2 years left - Obviously Oscar and it’s not close. Not even really worth discussing.
Stevie B - Oscar and it was never a doubt. I honestly don’t get why people thought Jerry West could be better. With Oscar already sporting A outside (which was probably his biggest doubt as a prospect), what’s going to hold him back? His handles are over 85. His rebounding will continue to develop whereas West will be capped. It’s not even close.
Galo - Oscar for now but Jerry still has a ton of camps left right? My money is on the logo in the end.
nybombers3 - It's obviously Oscar right? West is going to be a top tier PG. Likely already is top 10. Oscar is that plus a better rebounder and gets slightly more stocks overall.
4. What player are you most excited to enter the league in the next 10-15 seasons and why?
2 years left - For sentimental reasons, my two Ohio State boys joining us soon. Is Maravich soon? He should be fun. Considering half the league in this era were plumbers it’s hard to get too excited about any of them.
Stevie B - If we stretch it into the next 15 seasons, than definitely Dr. J for me. No need for me to really add more here.
Galo - Kareem and Magic should be fun.
nybombers3 - Pick a Knick.
5. On a 1-100% chance, how high is it that the bulls repeat?
2 years left - Maybe 20%? There are a lot of good teams and they are pretty weak upfront compared to at guard. A top big man could clap those cheeks. Still impressive what they’re doing without having a top player.
Stevie B - Somewhere in the 15% range. There are just high quality teams throughout the league…especially the Eastern Conference which is where Play will have to get through. Greer is all that and more, but don’t overlook guys like Buzz and Stokes who are tremendous players in their own right.
Galo - Now that play traded insane to san antonio, it's equivalent when doc lost thibodeau irl so not sure. I'll put it at 47.7%
nybombers3 - 30% I guess. I think they should be the favorites but they won't cruise through.
6. What do you think of the gap between star players and role players coming into the league?
2 years left - It is way too wide and dumb. If you don’t draft top 3 you basically wasted your time tanking. With the need for a star to compete and no way to get one without tanking or free agency it’s not like it’s a choice.
Stevie B - It’s terrible. The retro drafts have obviously been shitty for the league. Is this even worth discussing anymore?
Galo - Huge delta. This has been a problem for a while now. You have to hit with a top 3-4 player or you're royally fucked in your rebuild. It's a shame some GMs ruined fakes for Spence and we reverted to retro but here we are.
nybombers3 - Wider then a pornstars vagina. Seems like drafts are consistently of stars and role guys. That's it. Even the potential middle guys aren't really living up to that potential. Then the bottom of the draft is a 4 year waste of space. 3 years if your smart.
7. What GM of years past do you miss the most?
2 years left - In this league or overall? I miss a lot of our original group. Some of the replacements just aren’t up to par. Overall, I miss lb.
Stevie B - With Ahsan coming back, it’s clearly Mark for me. Just a cool dude who was also really good at FBB.
Galo - It's weird - I've missed footy recently believe it or not. The footman was entertaining and would always call out the hues randomly.
nybombers3 - Bring back skillz. The footy fuckery was kind of comedic as well. Either one would be welcomed.
8. You just won an all expense paid cruise around the Caribbean and can bring with you 4 GMs, which are you bringing with you?
2 years left - John, Diego, Brazzers, and of course you.
Stevie B - Galo, Play, DBW, and you my brother. That would be a good ass time…althought I suspect Play’s bitch ass to bail on us last second!
Galo - Uhhh that's tough. I guess Eddy bc that's obligatory or he'll be in his feelings later. Steve bc otherwise he'll be miserable. And I guess play since he still owes me tacos but scared to pay up bc of COVID. Lastly, I guess I'll go Dan bc he always has good vibes.
nybombers3 - play, hf, galo and Lums. I feel like Lums can set up some 3 way action on that cruise since he has experience.
9. Its Habes as the prosecutor vs Greeme on the defense team. Who wins the case?
2 years left - Their bank accounts. It should be a very long trial.
Stevie B - Greeme would just exhaust any judge, but then Habes can outwit the best of them. Who knows and who cares!
Galo - Another tough question. Feel like habes has a little more charm, pizzazz and jokes to grease the jury and the judge. But feel like Greeme is more seasoned in the legal realm and will bring out an expert witness to even the playing field. Deep pockets aside - I'll go habes since I don't know alot about Greeme's firm. Greeme could have his own firm for all we know - the man runs 20 miles a day, sends rough offers occasionally and yet still practices law.
nybombers3 - Habes. I see greeme offering a plea deal and it being so ludicrous that the whole trial gets thrown out because of it.
10. Who is the most overrated player in BBS?
2 years left - Loy Doty. Had he ever been on a good team? Guy sucks. Jax Bryant has to be up there too.
Stevie B - I would’ve said Kenny Sears, but Nanz can’t move him, so I guess it can’t be him. You can honestly take your pick with the Hawks backcourt. I think Newt is severely overrated. Not a good enough rebounder and defender to compensate for nights when he’s not on offensively.
Galo - Right now? I would say Jerry Mullen. Feel like he's fool's good. Bad under the hood. How else do you explain his shooting splits despite his ratings?
nybombers3 - I miss skillz. Typically the answer to these questions would be a Knick. Now idk. Lemme go Kenny Sears.
11. You have to pick one GM to win a cage fight against Spencer. If not you die. Who is your choice?
2 years left - Feel like I’d be safe with most of the league but I’ll go with Brazzers. He’s thicc and Brazilian. What more do you need?
Stevie B - Play. Don’t let me down.
Galo - Probably break. One of the only guys that I think can get get under Spence's skin and do it by saying all this crazy shit. That will distract Spencer and then break will take a cheap shot and win.
nybombers3 - royal. I'm just going off them podcasts. Plus I remember that shit between him and outlawz.
12. I’m having pasta for dinner, what’s your favorite kind?
2 years left -The kind with sauce and meatballs. I’ll eat anything. I bleed tomato sauce.
Stevie B - Ravioli!!!! Certainly my favorite, but man. Give me lasagne, linguine, rigatoni, etc. As long as it has gravy (yes us Italians call it that over sauce) on it, then I’m game.
Galo - I do this Boursin pasta in a dutch oven that's pretty legit. Usually ill throw in penne. www.modernhoney.com/boursin-cheese-baked-tiktok-pasta/#recipe-video
nybombers3 - I like making my own sauce and mixing that up in spaghetti or some other pasta with chicken parm. My favorite meal.
