2045 FULL Post-Notes Mock Draft!
1st Round:
1) - Nate Thurmond C 6'11'' 225 22 B- C- C B+ A- A - No brainer pick here for the Heat. Nate has EVERYTHING you want in a player and big. He should be a STUD for many years to come!
2) - Larry Brown PG 5'9'' 160 23 C B+ B C+ C- A - Notes stated elite jumpshot and handles which is what you want from a starting PG. Also elite quickness so he should have nice scoring volume too. I'm sure ashes would get the absolute most out of Larry's talent.
3) - Rod Thorn PG 6'4'' 195 22 C B+ B- B C A - Looks like a starting-caliber PG. C rebounding is nice, notes state solid steals and perimeter defense. Solid handles makes him a starting PG, solid shooting/quickness should make him an effective enough scorer.
4) - Wali Jones SG 6'2'' 180 21 C+ B+ B- C+ D+ A - Wali World in Boston? A fun player with fun notes. Good shooter with good quickness and handles. Solid scorer inside and solid defender on the perimeter and solid at getting into passing lanes. Should be a nice starter for many years to come.
5) - McCoy McLemore SF 6'7'' 230 21 B- B C+ B+ B- B - Seems like a fun player for the Magic rebuild. Solid scorer who gets stocks and boards. Might not have the upside that other available players have but regardless, seems like he will be a good solid low-floor type player. Has all the attributes you look for in a starting SF if you get the right pieces around him.
6) - Em Bryant PG 6'1'' 175 25 B- C B+ B C B - Everyone loves a PG with elite handles and steals while being a good rebounder. Good inside scoring and jumpshot is a massive plus. Next Paccelis Morlende due to lack of threepoint shot but terrific at everything we love (though no mention on shotblocking/quickness)? This is the type of player I feel like Skillz would be all over and likely end up flipping for something nice.
7) - Levern Tart SG 6'2'' 195 21 C+ B+ A- C C- A - First of back-to-back picks for DeeperThanSims and I feel like he goes SCORER. While the mediocre handles and C defense is a turn-off the elite quickness and good scoring at all 3 levels should be fun. He needs help but he can be a very useful player in this league.
8) from - Happy Hairston PF 6'7'' 225 21 B C+ C- C+ B- B - Not sure if DeeperThanSims would be happy with Happy but he does look like a nice starting-caliber player if moved to SF. Should be a plus rebounder there to go along with being a good scorer. Chance for the Hawks to really solidify the future of their wings.
9) from - Mel Counts C 7'0'' 230 22 C+ C D+ B B+ A - Something about Counts just screams Skillz to me. Pretty ratings so he should get traded for something good fairly quick. The mediocre stocks is a concern but his notes overall seem nice. Feel like he could even go higher than this.
10) from - John Tresvant PF 6'7'' 215 24 B D+ D+ C+ C+ A - Seems like a good player for Galo 's 2nd pick. Fairly solid across the board though nothing is known about his stocks at this time. Could be an SF long term due to only being an okay rebounder. Regardless, he is a project and projects are worth a shot at this point in the draft.
11) - Larry Jones SG 6'2'' 180 22 A- C+ B- C+ C+ B - From a value standpoint, he has elite inside and C+ rebounding at SG which is valued. Camp the outside scoring up to a solid B and he could be a solid starting SG.
12) - Layton Johns C 6'7'' 220 21 B- C- C- B- B- B - Notes are quite solid. Literally solid in every category you care for in a big. Camping and some TC luck could make him into a good big perhaps.
13) - Vince Brewer SG 6'3'' 205 24 C A- C A- C C - Late addition to notes but really good notes. Worth picking up at the end of the lotto for sure, could even go higher.
14) from - Jim King PG 6'2'' 175 22 C+ B C+ B- D+ B

58) from - Harold Ray Strother SG 6'4'' 175 22 C+ B C C C C - Mr. Irrelevant in my mock has a cool name, C+ B offense and C rebounding at SG. Could be a fun player, more likely to be a scrub.
