1. Fixing the Wilt deal or making the Greer trade. Which would you have done if you were the Nets?
autumn harold : Wilt. Unless I missed something, the Nets don't have any bigs. Greer is a great player but you can win with 25+ PGs. You can't win without good bigs.
2 years left - There was never going to be any fixing of the Wilt trade. He was trolling because the Warriors came back to him after he drafted Bing for the deal he offered during the season. Obviously he wasn’t going to do it now, but being farty he had to say so in the most annoying way possible. On terms of Wilt v. Greer, I’ll give him credit for going for the potential title winning move instead of the guaranteed reset move.
chipper - 1. I would have fixed the Wilt deal- but that’s only because I think it kinda screwed stoool. And I’m not taking one side or the other- as we’ve seen both sides to the story and it was a complete mess- but I think both deals were fine for the Nets so fixing the first one that was posted is what I would have done.
2. Wilt and Greer have been traded. Baylor was part of the Wilt deal. Who’s the next big star to move?
autumn harold : I think Elgin will be dealt again soon, but aside from him, let's say Buzz Bennett. Brian wants to rebuild. Just a matter of him being around long enough to get a deal done.
2 years left - Probably Elgin again, and I am a bit scared to see what he moves for. I think there is value out there for him but not sure if the Warriors will make the right move. Regardless, they can rebuild now and try building a team that isn’t so limited which will be good long term.
chipper - 2. At some point you have to wonder when Braz decides he’s going to break up the Raps and rebuild. He could still get great offers for a lot of his guys. So Twyman, Krebs, or Guy would be my guess. And he doesn’t HAVE to trade them either- they were just the first to cross my mind.
3. How did preseason go for you? Anything interesting?
autumn harold : Donnie Freeman SG 15 36.5 27.5 6.9 3.6 1.1 0.7 1.1 .515 .844 .333. Wanted to see him at SG and he looked incredible there. He won't get to play there since Charlton is the best SG in the league, but hoping for 85% of that production from him at SF. Otherwise no surprises.
2 years left - Nothing particularly interesting. It was fine, I just did a generic normal everything DC. I still need to figure out my guard rotation and test different paces to see what works best but knowing normal should be a smooth 50 wins is cool.
chipper - 3. It was fine- I got to test out some of the rookies I have and that made me happy. Gave me a little bit of an idea on where I want/need to camp some of them.
4. In the East, who are you taking? The Raptors or the field?
autumn harold : Raps. No one in the East is making moves to contend these days. We know the Celtics and Hawks aren't better than the Raptors. The Cavs inherited the Warriors' gimmick, which won't work in the playoffs. Those are the only good teams in the East.
2 years left - Hopefully not the Raptors. I feel like they’re due for a random playoffs where a 8 seed knocks them out so I’ll take the field.
chipper - 4. Until Braz breaks up the team- it’s the Raptors all day.
5. In the West, who are taking? The Spurs or the field?
autumn harold : Spurs. This is just a closer version of the East. Spurs showed they could dominate without Newt when he was hurt last season. Suns lost Gola, Grizz lost Gus, Wilt's gone, blah blah blah. Nuggets and Jazz look nice though.
2 years left - I’ll take the Spurs again here. Oscar is just too good and the rest of the team is good too. Maybe the Nuggets will figure out the right DC but have some doubts on if they have enough.
chipper - 5. Spurs have too much talent in the West I think to NOT win. So the Spurs.
6. Thoughts on this past draft?
autumn harold : It was weird. The class looked stacked to me and almost no one was asking questions. I asked a bunch but since I had so many picks I thought I could afford to keep quiet about Freeman and gamble on him. So many players that went after 10 in the draft look like starters and potential stars.
2 years left - No thoughts really. Barely even paid attention. I know Sargo traded for Walt because Knicks and he’s good I guess. Bing got traded for Hal Greer so that’s good value. Helps offset the only bust from the draft that play managed to draft. Very unlucky.
chipper - 6. Loved it. Entire first round was stacked, and I think you’re going to see some real gems from this class.
7. The Hornets. The Wizards. The Lakers. Marry one. Fuck one. Kill one. Best situation going forward?
autumn harold : M-Hornets since they just reset and have their picks. Just need to unload their guys and tank. F-Lakers. They're not hitting on their picks but they have youth, cap, and picks to improve when they need to. K-Wizards. Break doesn't concern himself with his team's long-term options, and you have to be a pretty good GM to pull that off.
2 years left - Is this with a reset CY? Then probably marry the Lakers because they’d be an easy tank and fix. Fuck the Wizards because KC, kill the Hornets.
chipper - 7. I would rank in terms of best situations 1. Lakers (biased by Bradley), 2. Wizards and 3. Hornets- but only because I’m not a huge fan of any of the Hornets prospects really.
8. So much anger lately. Give us some kind and healing words.
autumn harold : Just gotta see this as an online thing where you can't control other people's personalities. If it gets to be too much, I'll leave because it's not worth it, as others have. But we're not gonna fix the dynamic here unfortunately.
2 years left - Good vibes only now that Wilt is home. If you had sent this 24 hours ago I’d be responding very differently. I hope you all can find your Wilt.
chipper - 8. I just think we all can get along and live in peace and harmony. There’s no need to be upset, for whatever reason. I pride myself and think of myself as a man of faith, as there's a drive into deep left field by Castellanos and that'll be a home run. And so that'll make it a 4-0 ballgame. I don't know if I'm going to be putting on this headset again.
