ROUNDTABLE
1. Ahh the dreaded CY claimed another victim last season. Will kill off another GM this year? We have the Lakers and Sonics entering the dreaded CY.
JR- I hope not since i am one of those teams. I think i should be good. If not it was fun!
Braz- no I don’t think so Outlawz has a good base and JR actually drafted very well. His prospects can carry him and he added Krebs. JR has enough ammo for another move as needed.
Lawz - Well... since im the lakers sure hope not. I fell victim to it once. Which sucked. Hopefully elgin and guy will help us avoid that
Gabe – There should be enough room for both of those teams though it is rough they are both in the same conference. Lakers are better now though they need more depth but the sonics have plenty of pieces to move if they so choose. I doubt they get through cy if they don't upgrade pg.
2. Who was your draft steal and reach from this past draft and why?
JR- i am a little biased but I loved Plummer Lotts notes for pick 18. Also Ron Perry could be serviceable if he has any potential. Other then that i think the draft was solid. The reach was Phil Jackson obviously. So many better players available.
Braz- Phil jackson via list was the obvious reach. I hope Tucker is a steal. Would need rebounding to come along but I think the PG Jr drafted is going to be very good.
Lawz I think i reached with phil. I just wanted someone ready to play though. I made the mistake with Bradley being stupid but with phil i dont think there was anyone clearly above him
Gabe – Phil was a horrible pick. Outlawz should just let his pick be autoed. He is not good at drafting at all. Also his 2nd pick was bad. A pg with poor handles? awk
Steal was the guy I was autoed. Wesley Bialosuknia. Pretty sure. Or at least I hope
3. Looking ahead 5 seasons, name your top 5 players from this draft.
JR- Earl the Pearl, Mel Daniel’s, Clem Haskins, Louie Dampier, Bob Rule. No particular order but these guys should be very good players.
Braz- I think Mel Daniels will be the best. Prob will be like 28/12/3. Then Earl Clem bob rule and Dampier
Lawz after earl, hopefully phil, but i liked dampier, pat riley and rule. I like mel too but thought he might bust.
Gabe – Monroe, Walker, Daniels, Clem,adelman
4. John and Gabe switched teams, swapped spit, players and whatever else. I personally don't give a shit. What are your thoughts on "the swap"?
JR- personally i think it’s dumb it doesn’t bother me but why does what team you have matter at this point? It’s all fake.
Braz- honestly 50 seasons in if that makes two good GMs happier who cares
Lawz if spence is fine with it.. who cares. No thoughts.
Gabe – Just wanted to switch things up. I got killed on the swap though. Will be lucky if it doesn't get me cyd. No picks for 2 years is no fun. Thx for the challenge Marty.
5. This FA looks like ass cheeks outside of McCoy McLemore. Do we see anyone else getting a max deal? If so, who?
JR - I’m maxing 2 people. Not full max but a 3 year max on a couple guys, cus i need some more talent to help this CY.
Braz- yeah I’m sure some random player but won’t be worth it. Wonder if McCoy bolts with every team going after him. Hope not for hawks
Lawz Maybe 1 year maxes. I sent a 1 year max to trasher and i forgot who else, lol. Alotta depth type pieces. Nothing crazy
Gabe – I'm sure newt will get at least a one year max but yah this fa is horrible.
6. The Raps won 4 straight. What a run. They appear to be blowing it up right now. Krebs is gone. Guy is gone. Give me two destinations and mock trades that make sense for Jack and Kojis.
JR- I hate this question. I don’t even look for deals for myself. Let’s get Jack to the lakers to pair him with Elgin to help their CY chances. Kojis should be traded to the 76ers so play doesn’t get any more lotto luck.
Braz- I think a Gm should give me a solid young prospect for both! Lol
Lawz - jack to me but outside of that i cant even answer that properly when i only have enough time to know whats going on with my team.. but people should be dmin raps to see whats up
Gabe – Jack for exps to anybody that will take him. Age/contract make him hard to move. Big fan of Kojis. If wiz have picks – kojis for 51 and 52
7. Should have been a follow up from Q1, but save the Lakers. They need some significant help to make CY. If you were GM, what moves would you make to get to 42?
JR - I would trade for Twyman and Woody. Idk what assets he has but they are both available and both those GMs are motivated to trade just for the sake of trading.
Braz- see how Fa goes and get cheap bigs who can block and a a solid back up 1/2
Lawz plan is outside oriented players and good bigs.. guy and elgin are scorers who can defend. Now i need a defensive big to at least be a solid playoff team.. still have phil and cazzie to make other moves so we shall see..
Gabe – I don't think they need to do a ton. I wouldn't do anything major just get some depth. Maybe move phil for a good big that could play now
8. It's the weekend fellas. Any fun plans for the rest of it?
JR- watching college football today till practice. Saturday night UFC!!! Sunday is for NFL, I’ll just be smoking and watching football.
Braz- going into the city tonight for some fun
Lawz have my weekend with daughter, a baby shower, friendsgiving, and the gf wants me to put up all the baby stuff this wknd since shes due the 4th.. and with the problems having subsided we can focus on normal shit.
Gabe – No Sun here Maybe I'll watch the nets tonight.
