1. Boston Celtics - Kareem Abdul-Jabbar C 7'2'' 225 22 A- C C B A- A
Elite inside, jumpshot and strength. Good handles, quickness and post defense. Solid blocks and steals. Must always be #1 option.
The undisputed #1 overall pick and the best big man prospect since Wilt Chamberlain. Will likely be the most dominant center in BBS for a very, very long time. Ahsan's Christmas wish for KAJ comes true.
2. Memphis Grizzlies - Pete Maravich SG 6'5'' 197 22 B- B+ B+ C C A
Very good offensive player. Can score from everywhere. Handles, steals and passing all good. Poor rebounder.
The 2nd best prospect in the draft. Already having Pee Wee Kirkland in the backcourt, Memphis gives him a Pistol to work with. Very nice backcourt duo for the future.
3. Dallas Mavericks - Bingo Smith SF 6'5'' 195 23 B C+ C B C+ A
Good inside scoring, jumpshot, handles, quickness and post defense. Solid steals, blocks and rebounding.
Dallas hits BINGO with this pick. You could argue he could go #2, but Dallas gets a great pick here. Wings with stocks are always valuable.
4. Los Angeles Clippers - Gar Heard PF 6'6'' 220 21 B- C- C- B B- A
Good inside scoring, handles and strength. Good jumpshot, steals, blocks and post defense.
Clippers grab a very nice looking big man here. Possibly the 2nd best big prospect in the draft. He should be able to contribute right away after camps.
5. Orlando Magic - Bob Dandridge SF 6'6'' 195 22 B B- C B C+ A
Good inside, jumpshot and quickness. Solid handles, steals and rebounding.
Dandridge looks very good and Orlando can't go wrong with this pick. Might be able to play SG as well.
6. Houston Rockets - Jo Jo White PG 6'3'' 190 23 C+ B- C+ B C A
Elite quickness. Good handles and jumpshot. Solid steals and perimter defense.
I feel like Houston hasn't had a reliable PG for years. Somerset is nice but he isn't going to win you many games or take you deep in the playoffs. Houston takes the best PG prospect in this draft.
7. New Orleans Hornets - Fred Carter SG 6'3'' 185 24 B- B- B- B- C A
Good jumpshot, handles and quickness. Solid inside scoring and quickness.
Carter looks really good to start off and N'awlins goes with a BBS ready player here. Sure there are other positional prospects to choose from, but Carter stands out the most with those ratings. Hornets need a SG as well.
8. Seattle Super Sonics (via Utah Jazz) - Steve Mix PF 6'7'' 215 22 B C C- B C+ A
Elite inside scoring and post defense. Good jumpshot, handles and strength. Solid steals.
Oh man, the rich get richer. Currently the #1 team in the West, Seattle could use a younger big man and Mix fits that bill.
9. Los Angeles Clippers (via Detroit Pistons) - Willie Norwood SF 6'7'' 220 22 B C C- B+ C+ B
Good inside scoring, jumpshot and handles. Solid blocks and steals.
After selecting Gar Heard in the top 5, Clippers add more stocks at the wing position here. Sure they have Greg Smith, but who doesn't love stocks? The more the merrier.
10. Toronto Raptors - Butch Beard PG 6'3'' 185 22 B C B+ B C B
Good inside, jumpshot, handles, quickness and steals.
Toronto has been craving for a PG for awhile and I believe they select one here in Beard. He might be best suited in an inside/balanced offense which Toronto may run next season. Just a perfect fit for them.
11. Golden State Warriors (via New Jersey Nets) - Rick Roberson C 6'9'' 231 22 B- D+ C- B B B
Elite strength. Good inside scoring and post defense. Solid handles and steals.
Warriors need a big man BAD and I think they select Roberson here. After camps and hopefully a nice TC, he should be able to defend and board with the best of them.
12. Milwaukee Bucks - Norm Van Lier PG 6'1'' 173 22 C B- B+ A- C B
Good jumpshot, handles, quickness and steals. Solid perimeter defense. Mediocre inside and 3 point shooting.
Bucks could use point guard and NVL fits that description. His outside shot looks suspect, but I'm sure Andy will camp the hell out of that.
13. Golden State Warriors - Wil Jones PF 6'8'' 205 22 B C C B C+ B
Good inside scoring, jumpshot and quickness. Solid handles, steals, blocks and post defense.
Did I mention Warriors need bigs? Another one falls here at this pick. Camp those boards and Jones should be a very nice player for the dubs.
