I think the key is to have your picks before you sell. If you do a poor job and then try and tank for 3 years you wont set yourself up well.

yea it sucks that guys can get cy'd and just come back a season or 2 later to a better situation but that's more of a gm shortage issue

I just dont see the point in having it, firing GM's just to rehire a season later makes it pointless. Just make em dig out of the hole on the situation they are in. Let em take more risks, but also not be held over a barrel to go win and get taken advantage of. Killed Chip more than once now.

Cy is probably not needed anymore but there should be some type of penalty if you don't make the playoffs for x amount of years because if there's no cy or no penalty I believe it would make trading more difficult throughout the league.

Can we make someone compete in the 4th year with out consequence if they fail? The whole value for me is not letting someone tank indefinitely
