1. The draft has come and gone. Which pick in the lottery was the biggest head scratcher? Which was the steal after TC and pre?
CC - Probably Kresimir Cosic @ 3. Especially now. I thought there were much better prospects. Steal after TC and pre? Swen Nater looks good on the Bulls. Fell to 18 which was a surprise.
nybombers3 - I was pretty surprised to see Cosic go 3rd. Pre TC I thought Carr was a great pick along with Nater at 18. After TC/pre, I like a few of the 2nd rd guys. McCracken, White and Pettis in particular.
HF - Ummm the guy DBW got at 10 was nice. Twardzik looks good. I’m sure I’m missing a couple of guys but those are my two picks.
Braz- I did not like the third pick of the draft sorry Rex. The guy also didn’t have a good pre. Joe Hammond should have gone earlier and looks good. Great % off the rip.
2. The obligatory CY question. After the offseason, how safe are the Spurs and Nuggets?
CC - Both safe especially in the shitty west.
nybombers3 - I think both are fine. The Nuggets more so but I think the Spurs have a pretty solid base to build around. Beard is going to be a key for them for sure.
HF - The nuggets have a really good team and should be in the playoffs. The Spurs look good. They have Jerry and Charlton in the backcourt and wes, so I think they make it. The west sucks.
Braz- I like that’s the Nuggets have done across the board. Also managed to keep Cowens and Pistol. For the Spurs I think Ashes did well with his cap. Unfortunately for him almost everything else has gone against him. Swimming upstream vs lotto and Tc. I think he will make it but be frustrated during the process.
3. Brazzers brought up a great idea regarding RCs and spamming. Should there be other ways to earn RCs aside from posts? If so, what would you suggest?
CC - Maybe 42 wins = rc. Making the playoffs = rc? Why not?
nybombers3 - I liked his ideas. I think it would be a good incentive for people taking the time to do the awards to get a little something for their time. It's not always easy to find time to just post pad 300 times for one RC so any extra would help.
HF - There is, I’m doing one right now. Or just write articles and use as RCs. You can get a +4 and use it as an RC still.
Braz- what a guy great idea! Spamming sucks. Only reason I like it is bc it takes effort. Half of us can earn it easier than others. Seems silly. Let’s use it for activity based incentive that’s prob the original reason for posts.
4. Let’s talk veteran trade value. It’s been a contentious topic, as many vets have minimal value on the trade market. Why do you think that is, and what can be done to increase the vets value?
CC - Because teams dislike senior citizen type players. For us I don’t mind. It helps us win for sure. There’s value in that.
nybombers3 - I think a lot has to do with their contracts. It's rough paying certain players upwards of 20 Mil. 2 or 3 of those and yeah, there's your flexibility. Take that, plus you know, they are older and anything can happen (see Wilt, sorry). As for what can be done, idk. Not sure there really is a simple fix to it. Maybe after 32, you can free AC a player or something like that? Eh. Even I don't really love that idea and that's more work tbh.
HF - I don’t think much can be done to save the vets value. They are declining players that are usually getting paid a lot. I guess maybe make draftees not as good and have them develop some but then everyone would complain draft sucks.
Braz- make the vets worth something for sure. They are the most talented players in the league but you just need to budget to afford 1 of them can really do 2. Good players win. It’s crazy how many times a Gm was on the cusp and didn’t pony up for a guy who’s over 30 but still a major contributor
5. Wilt Wilt retiring suddenly, the title is fully up for grabs. Do the Sonics repeat? Who do you guys have meeting in the finals this year?
CC - Sonics can repeat for sure but they lost their starting big in retirings as well. If they find another vet replacement then yes they’ll likely repeat. I see a team in the east winning the ship this year, though. Sonics and Celtics finals.
nybombers3 - Sonics Vs Pistons. I do think the Sonics end up repeating. Sonics beat the Nuggets in the WCF while the Pistons beat the Wiz in a 7 game series.
HF - I got the Nets and the Nuggets. If Royal doesn’t blow up his team they’re pretty good. And the west sucks. East side. And then the Nets are a good overall team. I also like the Pistons. Celtics are a contender still as well.
Braz- I think the title is totally up for grabs with a few good teams out east. We made a good run last year but I think at least the wiz Celtics and pistons are better. Nets are pretty close and other teams could rise up. Should be a fun year. Going to be bias -Raps sonics!
6. Do we see another player come into the league with stipulations like Wilt? If so, who do you think and what should be the stips?
CC - Maybe Hakeem the dream inside or balanced only. Run TMC outside only. I’m sure Spence will have another surprise for us in the future.
nybombers3 - Next stip player is likely Magic with the LeBron/Oscar "SF can play PG" rule. Past that, idk. Maybe MJ with some sort of potential reset thing like Wilt?
HF - I think we don’t since we saw how hard it was to win a title with a team built around inside. I think we have other stips(like the KAJ) which might have better results team wise. Wilt was a stud tho.
Braz- that stip was silly and limiting. I wish we had multiple stips every draft that were less dramatic. Guys staying over seas for a season. If does x gets Y. Give tanking GMs reason
7. Amar has been non existent as a GM. Who would you replace him with?
CC - Marty or Lums.
nybombers3 - I think Marty was already given the job but left because of time right? or some shit like that. Give it back to him.

CC - Wouldn't hurt. In the NBA they allow 4 years out I believe. Might be a little more work to keep track but I like the idea. Maybe even have a mod keep track of it.
nybombers3 - I think we're fine as is. I don't hate it and I don't think anyone would really kill a franchise by moving another pick down the line but I do think it would end up as more work trying to figure those things out.
