2055 FULL Post-Notes Mock Draft!
1st Round:
1) - George Gervin SG 6'7'' 180 21 B+ B C C+ C+ A - Feel like this is the obvious pick here, C+ rebounding to start with SG-eligiblity, athletic with B+ B scoring and good inside, handles, stocks. He has everything you can ask for in a SG prospect, quite possibly the next McCoy McLemore. "The Iceman" should sell tickets in Utah and help raam turn this franchise around.
2) - Caldwell Jones C 6'11'' 217 23 C+ C C- B+ B+ B - I'll be honest, I think this is a bit of a reach BUT hear me out: 1) This team is in CY and with Caldwell having B+/B+ defense/rebounding, he can be an anchor for the defense right away, 2) They will likely use the 100 potential boost on him and camp his inside to hope he becomes an elite-level big for many years to come, 3) Has the elite blocking/strength to go along with the B+ rebounding so he's as BBS-ready a prospect as you can ask for. Feel like this is just a good fit for Outlawz
3) - Bobby Jones PF 6'9'' 210 22 B+ C C A- C+ A - The notes warrior, his elite stocks should make him a highly valuable asset in this league. Good inside/jumpshot is cool too. If the rebounding can improve in training camps, he can become an elite big or if his shooting is salvageable, he can be an elite SF. Regardless, feel like he is a good player to help this franchise for the long term.
4) - Marvin Barnes PF 6'8'' 210 21 B- C C- B B A - I really did like the notes for "Bad News Barnes." As far as big prospects go, he has a very good base. I do feel like RexLuthor trades this pick as he is in his CY and from a value standpoint, Barnes is probably the highest value one you could grab.
5) - Raymond Lewis PG 6'2'' 175 21 B+ C+ C+ C+ C A - Feel like the Bulls always have an elite-level inside-oriented PG from Hal to Bing. Raymond Lewis looks to be in that same mold. Solid handles, C rebounding, good jumpshot. Could be Play 's next great PG in Chicago.
6) - Eric Money PG 6'0'' 170 18 B- B- B- C C A - Money is 18 years old and likely loaded with pot which he has a good chance at retaining for multiple seasons. B- inside and outside with C rebounding gives him a good base. Bit of a project player and could be argued as a reach but being 18 years old with A potential (likely to be actual) makes him worth the gamble here. Feel like this is the type of player kobe can work with as Miami can afford a project at this point.
7) - Truck Robinson PF 6'7'' 225 22 B+ D+ C- B A- B - Feel like this is a good candidate for DeeperThanSims to use the 100 potential boost on. Dude is already B+/B/A-. A lot of guys who usually would slip later in the draft could easily end up going higher due to their base as a 100-pot candidate. He has the elite strength, the elite inside scoring and the A- rebounding. His stocks do need work as blocking is currently mediocre BUT with 100 potential, that could easily improve and he can end up becoming a big-time big. And honestly fits the mold of Atlanta bigs from seasons past.
8) - Doug Collins SG 6'6'' 180 22 B- B B- C+ C A - I actually liked his notes a ton and would have had him higher but with the 100-pot candidates and younger prospects in this class, I do feel like Doug can slip a bit. nybombers3 is a good GM who tends to go BPA and based on notes, that likely is Doug Collins. Doubt he uses the 100 pot boost on him (maybe the +15) but can develop him into a high quality starter regardless.
9) - Mike Green C 6'10'' 200 22 B- C C- B+ B- B - I do think jahallstar will use the 100 potential boost on his pick. And I do think Green can develop into a Jah-type big. Good blocks. Solid inside scoring, jumpshot, rebounding. He has a nice base.
10) - John Drew SF 6'6'' 205 19 B C+ C- B C+ A - A 19 year old who had really interesting notes. Will likely take some time as he is a bit of a project but GAME can afford a project being in the first year of his rebuild.
11) - Brian Winters SG 6'4'' 185 22 B- B+ C+ C C A - Feel like Winters will be a lethal scorer and could easily go higher than this. Feel like him and Tiny could be a fun backcourt for Orlando Magic Johnson .
12) - John Brown SF 6'7'' 220 22 B+ C C C C+ B - Good notes and guessing Nanz will grab him. This is a team which needs frontcourt help and Brown being elite in 4 key areas should step in and help them right away.
13) from - Campy Russell SF 6'8'' 215 21 B- B- C+ C+ C+ A - It's obvious that The Cincinnati Paingals is using the boost on Pat Riley so he goes with the highest upside/best notes player and that is easily Campy. I honestly can see Campy going Top 8-10 as he has solid scoring with good handles and C+ rebounding at the wing spot. Feel like he could be a really good fit in PHX.
14) from - Mickey Johnson PF 6'10'' 190 21 B- C C+ B C+ A
