This next guy has been heavily dissected leading up to this draft, but personally I like him a lot. Chocolate Thunder! Elite inside scoring and strength with solid blocks at 18 with 100 pot is enough for me. The rest of his game is a little raw but it’s supposed to be. Needs to be camped right and get a little lucky in TC but worth taking a chance on here since this is a weak draft at the top.
I have David Thompson here at 4. I’ve seen some not so high on him but he looks like Larry Jones to me. Already starting with A- elite inside and good pot so his outside will get to A- if camped right. Mediocre handles to start is meh but he should be around 2 tpg hopefully after a few TCs. If he can avg 30 ppg it won’t really matter. His defense developing will be the key.
This was a tough choice here but I’m high on Mitch Kupcake. Great starting ratings and notes, he looks like a better version of Kermit coming out. He has a great base for a big man. Very high floor and a high ceiling too imo. Just needs one big TC and camps. If his blocks develop with his offense and rebounding then watch out.
Another tough choice here but I’m gonna go with potential here in Alvan Adams. Not a big fan of him since he’s a bit of a tweener. Mediocre blocks so he might not ever be a good enough shot blocker to be a big but he is starting with high potential. Where his camps go will be big for his development.
Big fan of this next guy, Quinn Buckner. He has the base I look for in a PG with his defense and rebounding. Love the elite steals. Good offensive player too who just needs his camps to inside, jumpshot and strength and he’ll be a good starting PG out of the gate with a decent TC. Looks like Butch Beard but could be even better.
This is probably a little high but Jellybean actually has a nice base and starts with high pot. Will never be a 3 pt shooter but other than that looks very good. Good inside, jumpshot, steals, blocks, handles and quickness. Defense will go up a few letter grades at SF and get to A- eventually. Rebounding will reach C+ at least. Camp his inside and jumpshot to make his offense efficient. Will be a great 5th starter with his stocks.
Went back and forth sorting out the next two guys so just gonna put them together. Junior Bridgeman and Ricky Sobers. I think Junior is the safer pick since he has elite handles to Sobers mediocre and Junior is the better all around player but starting with elite inside for a SG is hard to find. If Sobers handles get camped and go up in TC then he could be a top option guy for a long time. Junior should be really nice as well, love wings with his base.
Johnny Davis here next. He has better notes than Gus Williams who I took 10th in a deeper draft last year. Great base for a PG with elite handles, good defense and rebounding. Needs camps to his inside and a little help in TC but should be a very good starting PG. And might go higher than this if a team needs a PG.
It gets tough here since there’s a bit of a fall off imo but I like Bob Gross a lot. Great base for a wing with good jumpshot, 3 pt shot, handling, steals. Just needs his +25 to his scoring right away then a decent TC and he could be a Scott Wedman type. Gross is gonna be a starting SG in this league, good value at 12.
Nothing exciting about this last guy but he’s probably the safest pick left and best notes/ratings available. Rich Kelley. Similar notes and ratings to Kermit. Camp his blocks and rebounding then wait for a good TC. He should be a very good 2nd/3rd big type with any TC luck. Not the most exciting but should be a nice player with love.
