Welcome to the Lasagna Kid's top 20 draft pick in review article. Remember the ratings and commentary are based on a scientific formula designed to get people to post.
1. Washington Wizards(from Warriors) - Alex English
SF 6'8'' B+ C+ C+ C+ C+ A
Eddie won the draft by takin Stoool outback and got the biggest stud of the draft because the pick jumped.
Pick A
Trade that allowed it D
2. Houston Rockets - Dan Roundfield
PF 6'8'' B C C- B B A
Was kind of surprised Dan went #2, but I get it. Camped this guy is gonna be a stud His notes are awesome, with the only question mark I had on him was his handles.
B+
3. New Jersey Nets - David Thompson
SG 6'4'' A- C+ C+ C+ C A
Think this is a reach pick by Greeme. he's gonna be a TO whore, cant play D, doesn't board, but he should score. Doesn't look like he has a 3point shot to speak of. Had this guy mid lotto, but we will see
D
4. Los Angeles Lakers - Darryl Dawkins
Center A D+ D B- C+ A
Chocolate Thunder fell to 4th probably becuase his boards are weak, along with his D. He needs help in so many areas, but could become an elite scorer at the 5 spot.
A-
5. Indiana Pacers(from Celtics) - Alvin Adams
C 6'9'' B C A- B B- A
This guy if camped right could be a 20/10 guy. Think this pick was perfect for the 5 spot in the draft.
A
6. Toronto Raptors - Mitch Kupchak
PF 6'9'' B C C- B B B
Rob went with a safe pick with Mitch. He is OK, but I had a couple others ahead of him on my BIG BOARD so feel like this pick was more for his team than BPA.
C+
7. Chicago Bulls(from Jazz) - Quinn Buckner
PG 6'3'' B- C B A C B
Play went and grabbed another PG. Clearly he thought Quinn was the BPA since he has Lewis on the team. Quinn sorta has the Livingston vibe to him, and if he is, he'd be the steal of the draft.
B+
8. Indiana Pacers - Rich Kelley
C 7'0'' B- C C- B B B
Not sure I can get all that excited for Rich. The bigs of this class all seem to have fatel flaws and Rich needs a +41
C
9. San Antonio Spurs - Marvin Webster
C 7'1'' B C- D+ B C+ A
Did Ashes read the draft notes thread? The dude has poor handles and will be giving the ball away more than his stocks will make up for.
D
10. Houston Rockets(from Trailblazers) - Junior Bridgeman
SF 6'5'' B- B- B- B C B
Broph got a potential scorer here, and will likely be moved to SG to cover up his lack of boards.
B+
11. New Orleans Hornets - Joe Meriweather
C 6'10'' B- C- C- B- C+ B
Another ho hum big other than he's got elite blocks, and decent steals. Worried about his overall D though coming in at B-, unless Spence gave him zero for drive D. This is gonna be an interesting guy to watch and see how he develops.
B
12. New Jersy Nets(from pistons) = Johnny Davis
PG 6'2'' C B B- B C- B
Really didn't like this pick here, thought there was still a better PG on the BIG BOARD ahead of Johnny. Hard to argue with Greemes success in the league, but not fans of either pick.
C
13. San Antonio Spurs(from Magic) - Ricky Sobers
SG 6'3'' B- B- A- B- C B
Ashes is building a tank master team? Sobers will score (maybe), turn the ball over, and doesn't board.
D
14. San Antonio Spurs(from Nuggets) - Joe Bryant
PF 6'9'' B- C C- C+ C A
OK this guy is gold as a SF. Just needs his strength camped. Love this pick, with the right camps.
A
15. Portland Trailblazers(from Kings) - Mike Dunleavy
PG 6'3'' C B+ B- B- C B
Manas use to be the king of PG wisperers drafting. I hope he got advice on this pick as while Mike D has name value association he doesn't look to be a scorer, lacks good D, and is meh on the boards.
C
16. Phoenix Suns - Ticky Burden
SG 6'2'' B B B- C- C C
Tricky is a reach pick. No D, No Boards, turnover whore... but can score.
D+
17. Los Angeles Clippers - Mel Bennett
PF 6'7'' B- C- C- C+ C+ B
Mediocre player and there were several better still on the BIG BOARD
C
18. Seattle Super Sonics - Jim McElroy
PG 6'3'' C+ C+ B- B C B
Has all of Mike Dunleavy's negatives and non of his positives. Personally had Lionel Hollins higher than him ore Mike D.
D
19. Dallas Mavericks - Mark Olberding
PF 6'8'' B- C C- B+ C+ B
Reach pick by the mav's. good notes but has too many holes and should have selected Bob Gross or Lionel Hollins instead. Another shit pick by the Mavs GM in a long list of shit picks.
F
20. Indiana Pacers(from Sixers) - Bob Gross
SF 6'6'' B- B+ C B C B
Pretty great pick at 20, was surprised to still see Bob this late into the draft. Likely will have to play SG to have any success. Camps to Inside, Strength and Jumpshot or Handles are probably in his future.
