Welcome to the first 2058 installment of Back to the Future Roundtable: Part I! I am your host, Johnny B Good Stamos and today we are joined by greeme , hf , the original michael ! After a small break of almost 55 season we are back baby on the reg babyyyyy! Always to get the season started!!!
YOU KNOW WHAT WE SAY AROUND HERE! SAY IT WITH ME! BBS is a big part of our pasts and thanks to big Spence, now our futures! LETS GET TO IT!
1. Let wrap up last season first! Were you surprised the Warriors were able to get all the way to the finals while in their CY? Did you think the Hawks would take it all when the season started?.
HF:Yeah Hawks we’re the favorite all along and thought they might of won it the year before. I’m not surprised the Warriors made it to the finals. Connie is a beast and they signed Dwight to go along with their solid front court. The Bing trade boosted them over the top.
Mike: Somewhat, but not really. They’ve had the talent, it was just about putting the DC together. They had a solid squad and no one in the West was dominate. Yes, said it multiple times the Hawks were one step ahead of everyone else.
Greeme:yes. Good job by stool for not panicking.doesnt help that the west is not good. I think the Hawks were one of the favorites from the get go. Not surprised that they won it all.
2. Now lets look at this draft! Do you agree with the Parish / King / Dantley / DJ / Marques going 1-5? Who do you know will be the best player when its all said and done?
HF: That was the top 5 for sure but I’m more surprised that King didn’t go number 1. Parish will be good but King should be 30 ppg from day 1. I think DJ has an outside shot at best player since he will have PG TCs and only needs to develop an outside shot. Still think King will be better though.
Mike: I would have gone King, Parish, Dantley, DJ, Marques. It would not surprise me to see Marques be the best when it’s all said and done.
Greeme: no. It is hard to tell bc I think some of the pgs will have random great tcs and explode. Green,Lee,Bratz, are all pgs I liked. King and dantley will be great scorers but great players? With all the wings in the league I understand taking Parrish over 2 wings with poor stocks but he isn't that exciting as a first pick. Nothing elite. Compared to the newer bigs he is fine but nowhere near nate/wilt/willis/bill/Kaj. Not a big fan of dj which will probably surprise no when. Parrish has more potential obv but if Tyler gets to b+ rebounding he might end up better than Parrish.
3. Looking at the rest of the picks, 5 thru 20… who do you know was the biggest steal and who has the best chance to become the best player from this draft
HF:I like the pick the Bulls made at 15. Ben looks solid. Major Jones had good notes at 21 so I will pat myself on the back. Hodge, Green and Edwards are others of my favorite picks./font]
Mike:I am going to use a homer pick and say Will Hodge. Only weakness was rebounds but that’s already up to a B-. Need a strong TC there now.
Greeme: I love Tyler Green and Cedric. Had them all quite a bit higher. Obv they aren't prefect players but they all look fun.
4. TC is the best part of the season… until your players end up busting LMAO am I right fellas? Who are you most excited to see in TC from your squad?
HF:Definitely Alex English. Need him to get to B+ outside sooner than later so he can be an elite scorer next to big George.
Mike: Youre right! TC is usually disappointing. Every single player on my roster is young, under 22, so I am excited to see all of these guys. Hopefully a few of them take off.
Greeme:i would say Tyler but with my luck his rebounding will go down, not up. I want Tyler to get his rebounding to b, dt to get his outside to a- and wilkes get his outside to b+.
5. T5. Now we can take a look at the upcoming season…. Indy vs CY.. collision course.. who wins? Does Indy MAKE it?! If not, what would you trade to do to improve that roster…
HF:I think they definitely make it. They have enough talent to trade with Gus and some wings. They need to get some bigs asap.
Mike: He has the talent to trade. It depends how active he can be. But I suspect that he makes it.
Greeme: -indy makes it easy imo. East has been getting worse the last few years so there should be a spot for indy in the playoffs..
6. When its all said and done… who will be BBS Champs next season other than the Lakers who are the favorite…?
HF:I have the Hawks repeating if they get Walt back. If not I can see the Heat making another run or the Cavs.
Mike :Hawks and GS should be in conversation again. All jokes aside I really do like the Lakers chances in the Westz
Greeme:i mean it is obv the lakers. Nobody else has a shot.
7. Speaking of champs…. NBA playoffs are nuts…. Bron took it to Steph and Harden took it home without the MVP… who do you think comes out of the east and west? Who will win?!?!??
HF:Hopefully the Heat can take this series vs the Knicks and build enough momentum to make the finals. I got Lakers out west. I’m biased and say Heat win it all!!
Mike: I’ll say the Celtics and Warriors… again. I hope I’m wrong and the Knicks can pull it off but honestly they’ve play poorly all playoffs, including the Cavs series. They’ve yet to have one game where all three of Brunson, Randle and RJ get going.
Greeme: Sixers-warriors. Warriors in 7.
8. BONUS ROUND! Braz recently became a homeowner and others are also looking to buy…is a grill the first thing you buy when you move in? and also, do you walk around with just your underwear own for at least 1 month to let the neighbors know there is a new sheriff in town?
HF: Definitely walk around in underwear with a cowboy hat on. The only way to do it. If you don’t have a grill already what are you doing?!
Mike: A Grill is certainly up there. We bought 6 years ago now and it’s filled with never ending projects! Be prepared!
Greeme:a smoker beats a grill. Keep your pants on braz.
9. Are you more of a walk around the house in shorts or sweatpants guy? Is it more of a seasonal decision
HF:Definitely shorts always. Sweatpants to hot in Miami.
Mike: Definitley seasonal. Shorts from April to Sept. sweats from Oct to March.
Greeme:unless it is really cold I much rather wear shorts.
10. Recently had pizza with pineapple for the first time in years and let me tell you… it wasn’t bad. No question here. Thanks
HF: Pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza you monster
Mike:That’s not pizza imo but my wife does like it so I’ll have some every once in a while. Go to pies for me are a white clam and just a standard mozz. Can’t go wrong there.
