Yeah if you’re just gonna cherry-pick rather than own up to a mistake I’m not sure what to tell you. A seven year max is more years and more money, and guys stay when offered those an extremely high percentage of the time. You obviously have better odds offering a seven year max than a six year max. There’s also no other factor that points in favor of offering bingo six rather than seven. It was a blunder, it’s prob why he left, seems like you’re in denial about that

Can you explain to me why you offered Bingo six years? Did you think you were maximizing your chance to re-sign him, that it didn’t affect your chances, that it’s better to have him for six rather than seven…?

Did you think you were maximizing your chance to re-sign him, that it didn’t affect your chances, that it’s better to have him for six rather than seven…? again, I've found no empirical evidence thus far 7 is better than 6 when resigning I've signed people with 6 yr maxes and know other teams have offered maxes I've signed people with 7 yr maxes and know other teams have offered maxes I've lost people when offering them 7 I've stole people offering them 6 when the team I've stole em from offered 7 yr maxes Same year I offered Bingo a 6 Royal offered his dude a 7 and still lost him. Milwaukee offered a guy a 3 yr deal and he took that over 6 yr maxes from a couple others... What's your empirical proof my offer was a mistake again? |

His one advantage is 12.5% increases as opposed to 10% increases. Monetarily, he is still offering more money on his 6-year max. Though not a crazy amount more. The 7th year is a lot more money. Though sometimes players still turn down the 7 year full max to walk. He took a risk, it backfired. But of an unnecessary risk tbh. Idk. |
