PRELUDE
Our Hero Spencer is a simming machine, and that has already about to begin season five of the BBS reboot. I love efficient scorers, so I decided to take another look at how players ranked efficiency wise last season. To do so, you need to know FGA and FTA as well as points. Points is easy to get off the roster pages, but FGA and FTA not so much…
I wrote code that pulls in every single player’s FGA, FGM, FTA, FTM, 3PA, and 3PM. It took me longer to write the code than to go to the site and copy and paste every player’s page… But it works now!
Below is every player over 9.9 PPG, ranked by points per shot! That’s one measure of efficiency I really like. There are 134, see where your guys check in!
THE FINE PRINT
My points per shot calculation = points/(FGA + FTA/2.2). FTA are divided by 2.2 to account for and-ones and three point shot fouls. Note this does not consider turnovers at all!
Only players with 10+ ppg and 10+ games were considered. Note the format is 2P%/3P%/FT%. For three point % rankings only, I set a minimum of four three point attempts per game.
Please note the teams the guys are on are based on the end of last year. Sorry not sorry!
