1. Dallas Mavericks (12-51)
Fat Lever SF 6'3'' 170 21 B C+ B B B A
Can play PG. Elite quickness. Good jumpshot, steals and strength.
When this draft was yet to be released, Isiah Thomas sounds and looked like the surefire first overall pick, based from name and accolades in real life, but we are a fictional simulation league and Fat Lever has the ratings(with better scoring ratings, better rebounding, and almost as good as handles and defense. The versatility separates him from other prospect in the draft, and I don't know if it's a factor anymore, but he's listed first with the highest scouted potential. I mean Fat Lever should and will be the first overall pick no matter what team will be picking here.
2. Minnesota Timberwolves(13-51)
Buck Williams PF 6'8'' 215 21 B C- C- B B+ A
Elite strength. Good inside scoring, handles and steals. Solid rebounding.
Very good base, might be a little bias on him being only 21, but this is a no bust pick, with his blocking only saying mediocre and not bad, meaning +8 those pre-TC and he'll be good-very good with some training camp luck, another thing mentioned was his solid jump shot something that are sometimes overlooked on big men. I might be biased but I just like the base, Minnesota finally gets a big man on their big men-less team.
3. Toronto Raptors (20-41)
Tom Chambers PF 6'10'' 220 22 B B+ C- C+ C A
Good inside scoring, jumpshot, 3 point shot, handles and post defense.
Change this man to Small Forward before the first TC and don't repeat Kobe's mistake on Jack Sikma, the B B+ scoring ratings looks nice considering you could easily +16 the scoring ability to B+ A-, should be a big time scorer, and with good handles he'll be a very good player from day 1. . I'm probably higher on him than most, but that's a nice base, but might be something that reminds of Raptors of Kiki Vandegwhe so I wouldn't be surprise if they go another direction here.
4. Denver Nuggets (19-39)
Isiah Thomas PG 6'1'' 180 20 B C B+ B+ C A
Elite inside, handling and quickness. Good jumpshot and steals.
When this draft was announced, I was excited on the prospect of getting Zeke, being one of the best point guards of all time, but ratings left me kinda meh. After researching his real life stats, those definitely doesn't translate to a good FBB point guard with high turnover and very low three point accuracy. Spencer took some liberty giving him elite handles, but with non existent three point on a league which ran mostly outside offense, there's a chance that he won't be the superstar he was in real life. Still, I'll take him for name value alone and with the elite inside, handling, and quickness. Hopefully he has high potential though.
5. New Jersey Nets (20-37)
Larry Nance PF 6'10'' 205 22 B C C B+ C+ A
Good inside scoring, jumpshot, handles, quickness, steals and post defense. Solid blocks and strength.
I'm surprise that his jumping is only solid, along with his strength, I thought those two inflates this ratings, but with being good in all the major category, he's a guy if he was slightly younger I would consider with the number 2 pick, these notes are saying he's good everywhere with no inflation from jumping sounds like a guy I could build with. Only downside is he's already 22 and might not have as high as potential as some of the guys that are considered here. Still, worth the risk though.
6. New York Knicks (21-36)
Mark Aguirre SF 6'6'' 232 22 B+ C+ C+ C+ C A
Elite inside scoring. Good jumpshot. Solid handling, quickness and strength.
Knicks start their back to back picks with Mark Aguirre, someone with Elite inside scoring, you know he'll be a born scorer from day 1. Look like one dimensional though, but hopefully potential can get him to a very good player. Three points, stocks kinda worry me though, as the league is already filled with high scoring wing with no other high skills, still you take him and like I said hope for the TC luck and he can be a good player. Plus, name recognition being a Bad Boy is a plus.
7. New York Knicks from Wizards (23-38)
Rolando Blackman SG 6'6'' 190 22 B B C- C+ C A
Good inside scoring, jumpshot and handles. Solid 3 point shot. Mediocre steals.
Sargo takes back to back super scorer projects, this time he gets someone with a better jump shot, if I have these two picks, I'll be assuming and hoping that at least one of them improves another facet of their game, regardless, those two would be good pick ups for his team, Aguirre, Blackman if had declared a year earlier would have been top 2-3 pick, but this is a deep draft so they go to 6-7.
8. Milwaukee Bucks (23-37)
Sleepy Floyd PG 6'3'' 170 21 B- C+ B- C+ C- A
Good inside scoring, handling and quickness. Solid jumpshot and steals.
Bucks gets another Point Guard, the notes says that he's a easy camp. Camp outside and handling and he turn into a very good scoring point guard. The Young Bucks get Floyd after a few years of Money as their franchise point guard. C- rebounding to start though, but aside from that no big holes on his game as a rookie.
9. Detroit Pistons (22-34)
Alton Lister C 7'0'' 240 23 C C- D B+ B B
Elite strength. Good post defense. Solid blocks, jumpshot and rebounding.
Being already 23, I rarely pick someone on lottery, where I expect/hope to get a star at this point, probably have limited upside but the ratings are already here, plus some GMs like Greeme apparently likes him. At worst he's a 6th man/3rd big, will have a servicable career in the league.
10. Philadelphia 76ers (26-37)
Petur Gudmundsson C 7'2'' 260 23 C+ C D+ B B B
Elite strength. Good jumpshot and post defense. Solid rebounding and handling.
A team that tried to reset so he can tank til the 1984 draft, but quickly fizzled out picks a player that fizzled out in the league after 4 season, but this is a simulation league not real life. Might be the GOAT Iceland basketball player so that might account for something? He has a chance to be good, someone with similar ratings with Alton Lister, with the same age. Mediocre blocks though according to follow up question so I won't be expecting much.
11. Dallas Mavericks from Kings (27-36)
Jay Vincent SF 6'7'' 220 22 B C C- B+ C+ B
Good inside scoring, jumpshot, handles, quickness and post defense. Solid strength. Mediocre rebounding.
Sounds like a "good" starter. I didn't like the call out on mediocre rebounding though. What you want from a 5th starter you get from him, and a room for improvement to be a slightly better than that. Actually, the mediocre rebounding rebounding I'm not gonna think so much as he has the 6th best C+ rebounding rating at the draft. He'll be a contributor from day 1.
12. Los Angeles Lakers (31-30)
Danny Schayes C 6'11'' 235 22 C+ C C- B+ B- B
Good jumpshot, post defense and strength. Solid inside scoring and strength.
You know what let me get a similar starting rating with the picks above him for this Lakers pick, he apparently has good handles, something not mentioned to Gudmunson and Lister. What I write above for Lister and Gudmunson applies to him lol, but he has good jump shot and handles. Son of legend Dolph Schayes, so that accounts for something, no?
13. Utah Jazz (32-30)
Darnell Valentine PG 6'1'' 183 22 C B- B- B C- B
Good jumpshot. Solid handles, quickness and steals.
Like his base, don't want to pick another big here, but looks to be a servicable point guard has all the tools that could be a quality starter with right camps. Not much to say, gonna be a mediocre player probably. Good luck to Marty on his CY!
