The season before last gervin was 2nd team all league. He averaged 23.5 / 7.5 on great %s this season. Above average stocks and below average rebounds. He is on a 1 year deal. Was he going to get someone better in fa? Some of you are hillarious. He’s tanking. He’s admitting it here. One of you are trying to sell yourselves on something that’s not true. If lums would have signed Jamaal Wilkes to a 1 year max would anyone say anything negative? I fail to see the difference. Would be pointless as well if he's as undecisive as he currently seems. Also, that's a signing. This is a trade. This was doing you much more of a favor then being a fair deal where both truly benefit. That's why I said, he should've gotten a pick. |

I did not get the impression he was tanking. And i do not think he should tank. It is not my job to make that decision for him. |

Gervin isn't enough to pivot to winning and he's putting himself in a position to be in limbo. He's likely retiring soon so there's no real long term benefit. I think if he is smart in FA this move makes it fairly easy to reset. Gervin is one of the top 10 SGs in the league even if you look down on him. Gilmore / Ewing is a very good frontcourt this year. He has 2 good young wings in FA...if he gets a MLE PG that is solid (the last 4 FAs there have been a few of those)
If he tanks then no this makes no sense. Next year gilmore and Gervin are gone...He'll suck again that year..then he will be in his CY and we know how that goes.
