Give us a sneak peek into the Bill Russ deal thought process. Did you almost not pull the trigger on the trade? Bill Russ? Nah, had to have him. Knew Stool was heading to rebuild, and he told me he was only getting offers with a 1st by teams that were all playoff teams, so I offered up two, hoping he didn't retire after 1. If you mean this past season with the Chief, That was all my doing, I offered the package Greeme accepted. He did counter for something different, but I couldn't do it, and then he said "post". Had tried to get Bird from Marty since I knew he was heading to HC hell, but he refused to be blackmailed by his pick. He was bound and determined to get a ship off of someone else's skill. I had been looking at everyone's pages, because I thought my biggest weakness after the first 40 days was a big, and Chief just stood out as the most logical guy to go after. DeeperThanSims offered me an intriguing trade right about the same time, but greeme had already said "post" |

How will you reshape the roster in hopes to repeat for next year? this is the part I knew would happen with the Chief trade. I knew it was a go for it now trade, and I'd be fucked. around day 90 stoool and I started talking trade, I knew he had cap going into his CY, so we agreed Bill would go home, and I could get a shot at a FA via some of his cap. if it works the team has a chance, if not... we'll reset |

What could you have done differently to get murph a title in Dallas not lost Bingo... but the reality is not much. Had a run of 4 straight Western Conf finals (51, 55, 62, and 57 wins those seasons), two finals in there, and BBS just fucked me over like a jaded bitch. The 60 win season really hurt not getting the ship. |

and while it hurt losing Bingo, had he resigned, it would have caused it's own problems with HC and trying to keep the team going. In some ways his leaving was a blessing as it made it really easy to decide who to give the 100 pot to, and it gave me two more seasons before Murph and Don's rookie contracts expired to go with Russell and Bridges

Congrats on the title, what is the plan moving forward love my core, so hoping Ainge resigns to a reasonable offer, the Chief does too, and that he doesn't shit the bed before I can pick up another big to make a couple more runs with Nique and Fat. Having to give up Walton or Robert after this season really sucked, but I kinda felt I had to take the chance versus playing it safe and hoping AC developed in time to be good enough to play next to Walton before he died. Gonna treadmill for a season or two, unless I get VERY lucky. |

Do you expect to keep Fat until he retires? At first I was, but I think my window will start closing and need to rebuild in about 5-6 years. Learning from my mistakes early on in BBS, and trying to adapt. Only way I keep him is if weird shit happens and I have a legit shot to hit at least 55 wins past that point. |
