This would seem to make sense, maybe?
Round 1 guys - 4 years (wouldn't want to make it 5...would coincide with 2001 draft and FA class would be too loaded)
2, 3, 4 - 3 years (birds preserved)
5, 6 - 2 years*
7-12 - 1 year*
*Have some rule where you can extend a contract of one of your 5th-7th rounders after TC # 1, so there is some incentive to draft young fellas*
