Ya but for an 8mo old baby shit is not good This would annoy and worry me too but the science on tv’s effects is so weak Yeah it just sucks because it's clear how much she will focus on the tv now instead of anything else The worst part is I'm not here to influence any of it, and I get that her parents are stuck in the house all day here in California but still

Ya but for an 8mo old baby shit is not good I mean if its 24/7 thats worrisome for sure. Is it educational stuff? even at 8 months we were doing like Cosmos and Bill Nye and stuff. Jackson had a good amount of screen time but we tried to make it educational too.

It's educational with my wife or her mom But her dad just watches game show network, news, and sports and just says stupid shit like "oh look I think she has money on the game" as Amelia is wide eye fixated on the tv

Ya but for an 8mo old baby shit is not good This would annoy and worry me too but the science on tv’s effects is so weak It’s always shit like this: “Sheri Madigan, an assistant professor of psychology at University of Calgary in Canada, and her colleagues studied 2,441 mothers and children enrolled in the All Our Families study, which followed young children from ages two to five. Mothers reported on how much time their children spent in front of a television or computer screen on a typical day, and also reported on developmental measures by answering questions about their children’s communication skills, behavior and social interactions. The data were collected at the start of the study, when the children were two years old, then again when they were three and five.” survey responses, observational, not controlling for likelier causes that coincide with high tv watching i think a lot of it is moralizing about the right way to parent itd absolutely piss me off if my in-laws watched tv with Julia all the time, but maybe this will bring you a little comfort. Maybe not though. Who can say

Maybe not though. Who can say I think its other factors. DO they communicate with her, talk to her engage her? Or is she on the floor by herself while theyre not in the room? I think screen time isnt always great, but if its done right its also not super hurtful.
