S2 GM RANKINGS
#1
-JR-
Spots Moved- Unchanged
BREAKDOWN: I let the league know about my main man Jay Are at the beginning of the season last year and he didn't fail to disappoint. After going coast to coast as the league's best team, he walked away as the season one champ. He is constantly looking to improve his roster and has added a very streaky shooter in Sarunas Jasikevicius to his already deadly arsenal of weapons. Utah Jazz are the early favorite to repeat and rightfully so. Well done Champ!

-Greeme-
Spots Moved- +3
BREAKDOWN: The Eastern Conference champ had a very impressive opening season and came up just short of a title that was nearly in his arms. He knew a change was needed to overcome the hump, and instead of cowering away like other GMs, he made an electrifying move. Didn't think Goodwill was open on Sunday, but lucky for him he was able to go thrift store shopping and found a valuable piece in Michael Jordan, for the price of well, James Posey. Jordan despite his age is still playing at a high level and will have the Nets flirting with the 60 win mark. He also is a favorite in the East to return the Ship.
#3
-SVEDDA-
Spots Moved- Unchanged
BREAKDOWN: No need to move Svedda down from here, after a couple deals acquiring Grant Hill and Gary Payton he let it be known that his franchise is looking to win. Getting Gary Payton wasn't cheap, in fact most say the trade was pretty even, but moving Larry Johnson was a no-brainer. In a league where point guards are tough to come by, acquiring The Glove sets him up very nicely. He is still a 'big man' away from challenging the Nets, but depending how well Mitch Richmond sims in a outside offense, he may be able to temporarily get away with KVH as PF.
#4
-INSANE/PLAY-
Spots Moved- +3
BREAKDOWN: The two-headed monster of Insane and Play exceeded most expectations with the product put on the court, but sometimes all it takes is similar styles to gel. Despite the spectacular regular season, their playoff run did end a bit prematurely in a first round exit. Many have credited that due to the lack of a quality point guard and that may be the same case with the this season, but there is no denying the talent of these gentlemen. The team has been holding together the foundation and they feel they have the blueprint in Camby, Howard, Finley. A change is needed here, but the team is patient.
#5
-ASHES-
Spots Moved- +11
BREAKDOWN: Ashes was on the brink of falling in the rankings, but all it took was the trade heard round the world to boost him into a top spot. The sneaky son of a gun, started Jamal Crawford at point guard all season and unintentionally inflated the hell out of some numbers. One of our peers was convinced that he was the second coming of Allen Iverson and decided to deal the Kings the arguably most valuable piece in the league, Steve Nash. I'm almost certain this trade will net the Kings a few titles in the near future.
#6
-KOBE-
Spots Moved- +11
BREAKDOWN: If you're going to talk the talk, you got to walk the walk, and no one did it better than Kobe. From our last rankings til now he's added Tracy McGrady, Bo Outlaw, and Dejan Bodiroga for really only the cost of Marbury. This has been a fine display of elite execution on his part, and despite my early trolling with him, I have turned the leaf and respect his game. He has been great for the forums, and despite his occasional defensive rants has been very tolerable. Kudos my man.
#7
-DARRELL-
Spots Moved- +13
BREAKDOWN: The biggest jump in the rankings is Darrell. My unfair criticism of him in the last rankings did not age well. Darrell has been active on the forum and is the GM of the league MVP Tim Duncan. With a player like Duncan in the Western Conference there isn't much you have to do to succeed, but being to make it to the WCF is an accomplishment for any team. He was denied in game 7 vs the champs, but the flaw that series was matching up with the Jazz wings. During the offseason he did exactly what he needed to do and acquired Larry Johnson, however he got at the expense he didn't want to losing a hard to come by Point Guard. I do expect the Clippers to be tough competitors this season, but not as good as last season.
#8
-COVID-
Spots Moved- +1
BREAKDOWN: The Nuggets came into the season with a questionable team surrounding Shaq, but by seasons end all questions were answered. They continued to pack in old veteran ball players with the likes Pippen and Stockton, and with a offseason looking to be a bust everyone decided to return for another run. Just ranking myself I feel I've been good not giving in and sticking with it and not selling short on Shaq.
#9
-ERBES-
Spots Moved- +12
BREAKDOWN: Another GM I knew nothing about previously has blown threw the roof. Looking at the Grizz roster you wouldn't think anything of it, but the Depth Chart of a great GM can do wonders. Grizzlies had a very solid season and due to it being a product of their draft and contractual situation they are able to continue to ride with the corp a coming seasons. Minor depth tweaks are needed to get them through the season, but I like what they have with Rose, Z, and Grant.
#10
-GALO-
Spots Moved- +2
BREAKDOWN: The homie Quote Master Galo has been doing his thing I must say. He came into the season as a after thought and by the end of Round 1 of playoffs we were all on notice. Hes put together a formidable squad, but my only concern is how good will Anfernee Haradway get, is he capable of being that Robin to Chris Webber. With no picks this season he's going to have to make a couple changes to catch Nets and Cavs, but we're believers here.
#11
-JAH-
Spots Moved- +2
BREAKDOWN: His articles speak for themselves.
#12
-JEB-
Spots Moved- +2
BREAKDOWN: Minny has done a lot with so little, he been trying to find Spree a new home, and I think its the right move. He needs to acquire mulitple pieces and try to gain some more momentum that he gained late last season
#13
-SARGO-
Spots Moved- -9
BREAKDOWN: Was in a dark place just little over a week ago, but the greatest rebuilding GM in FBB history, has bounced back nicely.
#14
-STEVE-
Spots Moved- -3
BREAKDOWN: Steve falls in the rankings because he hasn't covered much ground from last season. His team is currently just Stephon Marbury, and that's not going to cut it. Jamison is an interesting piece, but its hard to get the best out of him when he and Marbs are different styles of play.
#15
-JOHN-
Spots Moved- -5
BREAKDOWN: This position isn't what John didn't do its what others did to jump him. He didn't get the lotto to go his way, but ZBo will be solid, and he won Free Agency. Manu is HOME!
#16
-MANAS-
Spots Moved- +4
BREAKDOWN: Had a ok season, but better off season. His team showed significant potential but he's still lacking the star next to Dirk.
#17
-ATSCOTT31-
Spots Moved- +8
BREAKDOWN: He was the best tanker. I really like Pau, got lot of heat for picking him over Pau, but honestly they both look solid and its too soon to state who's better.
#18
-LOSANGLIFE-
Spots Moved- Unchanged
BREAKDOWN: Kind of just coasting.
#19
-HABES-
Spots Moved- -16
BREAKDOWN: The Mavs are team mixed of youth and vets with no sense of direction. I think they have the tools and assets to be very good. The GM despite having Jason Kidd, is so high on Tony Parker, and rightfully so, the kid is developing nicely after one TC. I think the Mavs having no picks til 2005 should considering moving either Kenyon or Tony Parker now and explore what type of interest they receive. Jermaine O'neal had a great DC and really compliments Kidd, but a change is needed. I do think this GM's skillset is hire than his rankings however.
#20
-DB-
Spots Moved- +2
BREAKDOWN: Building around Rip Hamilton won't cut it, but it's still to early to really judge Blazers GM. He had a decent draft, and is playing the tanking game correctly.
#21
-BRIANH-
Spots Moved- -15
BREAKDOWN: Didn't know how green he was to this game, my man has the basic knowledge down, but he needs a few seasons under his belt.
#22
-SKILLZ-
Spots Moved- -12
BREAKDOWN: Skillz or lack there of, had a great draft, great early season Nash acquisition, and a great regular season. What happens next is mind boggling. Nash for Crawford, MJ for Posey. He's lost it folks. Justify it how you want, this is as bad it gets.
#23
-BREAK-
Spots Moved- +6
BREAKDOWN: Hired a competent Co-GM, wrote a RT to gain knowledge, drafted Joe Johnson. He's learning!!
#24
-13ROCK-
Spots Moved- -9
BREAKDOWN: I don't like the direction this team is going, he is on the verge of getting CYd with Paul Pierce.
#25
-PIGPEN-
Spots Moved- -6
BREAKDOWN: He's not really doing much with this team, lot of his guys are expiring as well. He could get away with selling Zo high right now and start a solid rebuild, however he does not own his 1st. Just a tough spot to be in for a not so promising team.
#26
-NANZ-
Spots Moved- Unchanged
BREAKDOWN: He just traded away his future to make a run with Elton Brand and rookie Gilbert Arenas. Questionable decision, I would've bargained to keep the 2002 first or not trade at all. Might sneak into playoffs because west is ass, but this team is not set up for success.
#27
-CHIPPER-
Spots Moved- -N/A
BREAKDOWN: Well he's new and traded Shard for Kenny Thomas and already known questionable picks.
#28
-GAME-
Spots Moved- -N/A
BREAKDOWN: The newest GM, joined the league and took a +10 over .500 playoff team, to a 4-20 record to close to year. Some work is needed my man. You'll climb up.
#29
-AHSAN-
Spots Moved- -1
BREAKDOWN: Just when you thought he couldn't get any worse, he does. Not only does he suck at winning, apparently and this is mind blowing he also sucks at losing. Go Figure!!! Going into last season the Rockets were so set on tanking, and yet he somehow made the playoffs. the positive of that is he resets his Contract year, the downfall is, we have to deal with his ass for a extra year.
