Wow! Here we are again. In the 16 hours since posting the first article I've counted precisely 17.3 mock draft articles, so once again in the spirit of something different let's try to pair the West GMs with some video game consoles!!!
Dallas Mavericks/habes - Neo-Geo AES
Habes is a man of the law and the Neo-Geo AES was a fourth generation home console that likely required a doctorate degree prerequisite to afford. Seriously this console was around $600 and each game cartridge was expensive as hell too, but be damned if those games werent arcade perfect representations. The Mavs remind of an arcade fun team with Parker, Bodi, and Mash putting it in the HOOP.
Denver Nuggets/royal - Fairchild Channel F
What is this exactly? I'm sure most of you all are asking this question, but something called a Fairchild Channel F was the first home video game console released in 1976, which is only a few years sooner that 3/5 of the Nuggets starting lineup was set to begin their NBA career. The oldest console paired with the oldest FBB roster I've seen with my eyes, a match made in hell!
Smell the old
Houston Rockets/Ahsan - Atari Jaguar
A console that claimed to be the FIRST 64 bit console with a legendary past that legendarily flopped. Ahsan claims to be a guru of the #system and has exploited the game engine in the past in many shitty jcink leagues has been pretty abysmal so far. Maybe they can be saved from the pits of hell with Yao. They're lucky they reset cy last year.
Minnesota Timbereolves/jeb - WiiU
I'm not sure what Nintendo was trying to accomplish with the WiiU...basically a slightly upgraded Wii console with an albatross gamepad that very few games did anything with. Likewise I'm not sure what jeb has accomplished with his moves this years, trading 1sts then trading VC for some (not all) of them back...head scratcher for sure.
Utah Jazz/JR - ps4
Ps4 "won" the current gen console battle with Microsoft surpassing over 100 million in lifetime sales. They have a substantial market share and have forced microsoft in to basically saying they don't care if you buy their home console. The current console king pairs nicely with the current BBS champ!
Memphis Grizzlies/Erbes - Vectrex
Hey, the Vectrex was its own thing, and it was cool. You could have a wild time with some of the game/programs available l. Hey, the Grizzlies are their own thing. You can have a wild time with Theo Ratliff on the perimeter running off screens.
I've seen one of these in the wild
Golden State Warriors/manas - Super NES
Donkey Kong Country on the SNES had you play as Donkey and Diddy Kong, a dynamic duo capable of anything. Another dynamic duo that showed up on this console is of course Mario and Luigi. The BBS duo of Dirk and Chauncey would be a nice 2D platformer on the SNES.
Los Angeles Clippers/darrell+frongi - PC Gaming
You want the best graphics, framerate and performance? DO YOU WANT 4K GAMING WITH 120 FPS MOTHERFUCKER? Then you should be playing games on a high end PC. Similarly if you want to try and argue you have the best player you should be playing BBS with a high end Tim Duncan. It isn't fair the things he can do on a fictional basketball court.
Los Angeles Lakers/nanz - Amiga CD-32
Amiga was a powerhouse name in computers for a while in the 80s, but the fatal mishap of the Amiga CD effectively put the name in legacy in the casket. The Lakers are a powerhouse name that seemingly took a large misstep in trading draft selections to assemble a roster that wasn't quite ready to take the next step. Will they bounce back?
Phoenix Suns/Andrew - Sega Master System
Not quite to their pinnacle (genesis) but in a better position than they've been (Sg-1000) if they strategize their next few moves correctly they could be a new for to rival some of the heavyweights in the league.
Portland Trail Blazers/Dan - Gameboy Color
A classic gaming console and a BBS season vet. My lasting memory is Dan getting Zo and Shaq in back to back drafts and having a stud team in one version of BBS. Sorta like how the gameboy and GB color were the studs of the handheld market.
Sacramento Kings/ashes - PC Engine/turbografx-16
The turbografx 16 has an extensive library of much beloved shooters. The Kings have a shooting duo that is setting the Pacific division ablaze. The Kings lack a bigman much like the turbografx-16 lacked a killer app to get them into homes and compete with the SNES and sega genesis. Also ashes is in Japan and the PC Engine was big in Japan!
Seattle SuperSonics/13rock - Virtual Boy
Why does this console exist? What direction/end result did Nintendo hope for? What direction are the Sonics currently going in? Is there a white light at the end of the tunnel for the Sonics while missing the playoffs but failing to secure top 3 picks? Or is that light red and black and shitty...like the Virtual Boy's graphics?
