Projected Ratings: C C+ B A C+ B
Bio: Cookies Carter, real name Jaxson Carter, was born and raised in New York and while he was always interested in basketball, he was clearly different then the other guys he played against. Carter is athletically gifted. He can jump, strong as an ox and he’s lightning quick. His handles are solid and while he can pass the ball, sometimes he's more focused on passing instead of scoring. What separates him from the others is his desire to play D. Carter grew up watching players like Bruce Bowen, Tony Allen and Trevor Ariza and he knew he wanted to become a lockdown defender when he entered the league. He’s nicknamed “Cookie” because of his throwback game and how amazing he was at getting steals. If you listen close enough, you can hear him yell out “Cookies” after each and every steal. While playing for St Johns, Carter averaged around 12 ppg. His 3pt shooting hasn’t developed much but he can hit FT’s with the best of them. He constantly averaged nearly 3 spg and no matter if he played SF or SG, he would lock down the best scorer of the other team. He was also a very solid rebounder, averaging 7 rpg each of his 4 seasons. Scouts believe that while Carter is spectacular on D, they don’t expect his scoring to develop much more. Still, Carter believes he was put on this Earth to grab rebounds, play D and more importantly, get steals.
Pros:
Lockdown defender from the jump, especially when it comes to steals
Great FT shooter
Solid rebounder
Handles are solid
Cons:
Doesn't put in the necessary work on the offensive end
Can’t hit the 3 ball
Can get very pass happy at times.
Stips:
