Darren Holloway
SF
6’2”
175
20 years old
Projected Ratings: C+ D+ C B- B- A
Bio: Growing up Darren idolized the likes of Charles Barkley and Dennis Rodman and would try to emulate their game on the court. Much like these two legends of the game, Darren enjoyed the challenge of banging around inside with guys that were both taller and stronger than he was. He loved playing 21 as a kid but didn’t get involved in organized basketball until later in life. Because of this, Holloway is projected to come into the league with high inside scoring, moderate jumper, non-existent 3 point shot, and below average but improving basketball IQ. The offensive side of the ball never really intrigued this young man who would instead focus on aspects of the game he found more exciting such as blocks, steals, and particularly rebounds. Darren has an innate ability to read the ball in the air and predict how the ball will bounce off the rim. His slight frame is actually useful for rebounding as he is able to maneuver his body to secure boards among bigger players. Darren struggles with creating his own shot and usually depends on his teammates to bail him out of a press or trap situation and has become a strong passer because of this. Holloway hates turning the ball over and despite not being the best at making his own shot has become an above average ball protector. He was never the quickest guy on the court and is the definition of a tweener because of his playing style and frame. Scouts mention his work ethic and his relative newness to the organized game as reasons why he might have high potential.
Pros:
Boards
Stocks
Ball protector
Cons:
3 pointer
Shot creation
Undersized
Stips:
N/A
