Bio:
Boomer Dipp is a former stand out prep hockey player from Southern Connecticut. His hockey career ended before he entered college due to a severe collar bone injury on a dirty play at the net. The injury healed, however, Boomer never really gained the confidence to get back on the ice. Life after hockey was rough. He dabbled in men's softball, where he quickly dominated as a 1B. However, that grew old. Quick. One day, Boomer was playing pool basketball with some former college ball players and realized he had the strength and skills to dominate, especially defensively. Shortly after, he joined a men's pickup league and was noticed by some coaches at the local college. They offered him a scholarship and the rest is history. In his freshman year, he averaged 3PPG 18RPG 7BPG. By Senior year, he was averaging 4PPG 24RPG 9BPG. A modern day Dennis Rodman? Defense was his craft. He is relentless. He'll tire you out on that end. I'm not sure we have seen a player of his skill set. Sure, he'll be flawed and a liability on offense, but will his defense be enough to make him a starter in BBS? The steals, the blocks, the boards are all sexy. The offense will be a huge negative. Time will tell. Scouts compare him to Mattise Thybulle and how he developed in BBS, however, in the form of a big man - which should hold more value.
