Ricky Francis III
5’8 175 LB
21 Years Old
Shooting Guard
UCONN
BBS Ratings: C+ A C- C D+ A
Bio: The grandson of Ricky Francis, one of the legends of BBS lore, Ricky Francis III brings the same scoring that made his grandfather famous. For those who are too young to remember, Ricky Francis Sr was Steph Curry before Steph Curry. He did not pass much, but was an absolutely elite scorer, ball-handler, and stealer of the ball. He became a role model for many of the best players in SIMS, as his fingerprints are all over the game we love today. No one took this legacy to heart more than Francis III, who modeled his game after his grandfather. He has been compared to Francis and former Nuggets star, Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf.
Strengths:
-Perhaps the best shooter to come out in a BBS draft. Elite from everywhere. Averaged 35 PPG in college. His range starts at the logo.
-Lightning quick. This man can get from baseline to baseline faster than almost any SG in the league.
-Good finisher. Has an array of pretty layups, euro steps and alike. He’s not a one-trick pony.
-Terrific handle. He has every move known to man. Takes care of the basketball.
-Quick hands. Steals extra possessions. Gambles on defense.
Weaknesses:
-Hates to pass and refuses to play Point Guard. He has been the best player on his team for his entire life and does not trust his teammates.
-Weak. This is a small kid in a big man’s league. He’s thin and does not have a lot of strength.
-Poor positional defender. While he racks up a lot of steals, he does not excel at defending the perimeter.
-Poor rebounder. Never been a strength of his.
Stips:
-Cannot start or backup Point Guard [up to Spence whether he wants to enforce the backup rule, but this version of Ricky is definitely a SG]
