Position: SG
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 195
Age: 18
Team: G-League
Projected Ratings: C+ B- C+ C C+ A
Bio: Javier was born in Ecuador and within the year, his family moved to the US. After moving around for a couple of seasons, they settled down in Houston. While his family did their best to support, they did struggle as he was growing up. Javier was always interested in sports and while he enjoyed Soccer, he grew up to love basketball. When he was older, his family surprised him by paying for a Jamal Crawford basketball camp. Here is where his love of basketball grew and he knew what he wanted to do when he got older. As Javier got older, he started getting more recognition for his talents. When he hit 18, he received a G-League contract and while many believed he should've went to college, he wanted to take the money to give back to his parents. In the G-League, Javier has been a solid player off the bench. Even at his young age, he can score. His shot isn't great currently but his form is top notch and scouts expected it to get better. He is not afraid to attack the basket and can hit his FT's. The biggest thing he took from the JC camp is his handles. He can drive past anyone and doesn't turn it over much. What he didn't take from this camp is passing. While he can pass, he does get tunnel vision and more often then not focuses on scoring. On D he won't get steals or blocks but he's quick and can play very solid D overall. He's a solid rebounder for his size and has a pit-bull mentality when it comes to getting defensive rebounds. Scouts believe that Javier wants to be successful so it should be interesting to see how far his potential can take him.
Strength:
Can score inside.
Solid FT shooter.
Great handles
Great rebounder for a 2, especially on D
Good positional defender
Very quick overall
Weakness:
Raw for sure. Will need a few seasons/camped out to be successful
No STOCKS
3pt shooting needs work
Doesn't pass
Weak and no hops
