Martray Bagley
C
7'1
221 LBS
18 years old
USC
Projected Ratings: C B- B- B- C+ A
Bio:
Martray Bagley follows the leads of his older brothers, Marvin Bagley III, a current Golden State Warrior and Marcus into BBS. Bagley looks up to his brothers and trying to follow their footsteps to be the next great Bagley BBS player in the family. Growing up, Martray watched his brothers’ practices as a kid at Duke/ASU and training camps with Milwaukee, Indiana and Detroit and later went to the best basketball camps including the Blake Griffin and the famed Pete Newell basketball camp.
Martray has elements of both of his older brothers’ games: has great quickness and motor to his game much like his Marvin but not very strong at just over 220 pounds like Marcus. He gets dominated down low but gets steals from other big men using his 7’2 wing span. His help defense is just okay but not the best defender down low because he’s not very strong yet. His offense is pretty raw right now but has potential to get better. His free throw form is top notch and has a little bit of 3PT range like his older bros but tends to fade away in games since he doesn't take a ton of shots. He’s very good at crashing the boards and handles/passes the ball well like Marcus was. Scouts believe he has high potential to add bulk to his game, improve instincts on defense and polish his offensive game.
Strengths:
- Very quick and athletic for his frame
- Will get above average at getting steals for a big man
- Solid handles for his size
- Good mid-range and outside scoring potential
- Tenacious rebounder, hard working around the glass
- Leaves the Trojans as a raw prospect but believed to have higher upside than his brothers
Weaknesses:
- Not very strong at all
- Does not have a lot of blocks in his game
- Post defense is below average right now
- Offensive game needs tweaking
- Probably passes more than he should
