2034 181 Hawks Sign PG Dajuan Wagner Jr. for $126,000,000 over 6 years.
2034 182 Hawks Sign PG J.L. Parks for $15,000,000 over 3 years.
2034 182 Hawks Sign C Jalen Lewis for $10,000,000 over one year.
Can’t hate on anything here. Out of all the FA’s that were available, I didn’t think Wagner would be leaving. I think I had him and Ellison most likely to stay. Should be a great trade chip for the Hawks going forward if they go this way or a nice building block for them once they decide to start trying to compete again. Not sure how or more importantly, why the Hawks were able to steal Lewis. A pretty big loss for the Sonics who are in need of assets and just lost a solid piece right here for no reason. The bigger deal here? Hawks own the Sonics 1st this year. Makes it an even better signing for the Hawks. The J.L Parks deal is interesting. While Wagner might not move right away, I can see Parks being traded to a team in need of a PG, especially if he has a good TC. At 5 Mil a year, that’s a nice cost if he’s still improving. The Hawks have had a pretty good FA all things considered and they might be able to eat real well off these signings.
2034 181 Hornets Sign PG Bobby Wanzer for $115,500,000 over 7 years.
Pretty much a lock Wanzer was getting that max and luckily for NOH he stayed. Wanzer was one of the bigger names of the AARP rookies group and unlike a lot of his other similarly elder rookies, he bounced and got paid big for it. Well-deserved though and the biggest benefit for the Hornets comes in knowing that there will be no 2nd max deal for this guy.
2034 181 Kings Sign PG Jimmy Darden for $12,000,000 over one year.
It’s fine. Darden was a solid player for the Kings and they are bringing him back while kicking the can down if a trade comes along. Nothing wild.
2034 181 Nuggets Sign C Sean Ellison for $142,485,150 over 7 years.
Big man returning to the Nuggets. Nothing shocking here. As long as his contract isn’t hitting RJ Barrett levels of fuckery, it works great for the Nuggets. Very tradeable if they go down that road in the future.
2034 181 Suns Sign C George Mikan for $90,000,000 over 6 years.
2034 182 Suns Sign C Wendell Carter Jr. for $15,000,000 over one year.
Ah, the big one. Surpringly, only three teams had a max slot. The Suns, Raps and Hawks. With the Hawks bringing in Wagner, it was between the Suns and Raps. So, why the Suns? Truly, who knows. FBB is random like that. I do think it’s good for the league that more teams are trying to make winning moves so while, yes, sucks for the Raps at least the Suns are now in play and trying to win. Obviously, Mikan was getting a max so no need to go into great detail there. Fuck Wendell Carter.
2034 181 Magic Sign PG Tyrese Haliburton for $11,687,500 over 2 years.
2034 181 Magic Sign PF Dolph Schayes for $115,500,000 over 7 years.
2034 181 Magic Sign C Philip Stankovic for $1,200,000 over one year.
Dolph, like the dudes in the beginning, was getting a max. I wouldn’t have been all that shocked if he went elsewhere for some reason but he stayed. Tyrese is brought back for cheap which is a pretty nice deal for the Magic all things considered. A pretty underrated overall PG for a little more then the MLE? I think most teams will take that as long as TC doesn’t hurt him too much. Stank is a decent, emergency big that. For the LLE, it’s fine.
2034 181 Warriors Sign PG Immanuel Quickley for $1,440,000 over one year.
2034 181 Warriors Sign SG Kevin Porter Jr. for $4,500,000 over one year.
First off, foh. I didn’t even notice Porter was stolen. Either way, depth chips for the Warriors. Porter is still a solid scorer and his rebounding is a nice addition at the swing spot. Quick used to be a pretty solid PG but he should be a decent enough back up at that price.
2034 181 Grizzlies Sign SF Josip Matic for $4,500,000 over one year.
Haven’t paid a ton of attention to Matic but he looks like a pretty solid role player who can defend and rebound. Doesn’t do much on the other side but he isn’t a god awful shooter either so at least he doesn’t hurt much.
2034 181 Nets Sign C Maximillian Procaccino for $5,800,000 over one year.
Proc. Solid role player and should help the Nets win some games this year. Should be interesting to see what Marty does with the roster he’s got.
2034 181 Pacers Sign SF Li-Hua Cho for $13,000,000 over one year.
Solid scorer. Should be a nice role player for the Pacers again, depending on if he’ll actually get PT or not. Either that or he’ll just be a trade filler. Pacers seem like they’ll start turning the corner and trying to win some games next season.
2034 181 Bucks Sign SF Easy Parham for $4,600,000 over one year.
Easy P. Moved but always shall be loved. Easy P is a pretty nice player at PG, unfortunately he can’t start there. His scoring is kind of iffy anywhere else besides PG but with camps might improve. His rebounding advantage is key though.
2034 181 Cavaliers Sign C Boomer Dipp for $6,000,000 over one year.
2034 182 Cavaliers Sign SF Deni Avdija for $5,400,000 over one year.
2034 182 Cavaliers Sign SG Jim Simpson for $12,000,000 over one year.
Boomer. Solid rebounder. Nice shot blocker. Shaq levels of bad at the line. He doesn’t turn it over much so at least he doesn’t hurt there but man. That FT shooting shocked the hell out of me when I saw it. As for Deni, I guess he’ll be used as a filler more then anything else. He wasn’t exactly loved last season but it’s a 1 yr deal. We’ll see what happens with him. Simpson seems like just another filler type.
2034 182 Super Sonics Sign PG Brendan Newble for $1,200,000 over one year.
The first big move in Seattle is here. I always kind of liked Newble. Didn’t have time/camps for him but felt like he should’ve been something with more attention paid to him. Oh well. He’s an ok back up.
2034 182 Spurs Sign SG Tex Ritter for $11,000,000 over one year.
I guess a big expiring for a move? That’s all I got. Should be interesting to see what happens with the Spurs this year. They should be getting in on these trades and seeing what they could put out there. Shop Yadley and see what's available. Edwards should still be able to fetch something solid but I do think the Spurs are a few decent moves away from being able to put out something decent. The Spurs drafting a SF for 3 straight seasons is something that should push them towards moving one for talent elsewhere.
2034 182 Raptors Sign SF Harrison Mix for $6,100,000 over one year.
2034 182 Raptors Sign C Bobby Johnson for $8,000,000 over one year.
2034 182 Raptors Sign PF Marvin Bagley III for $10,000,000 over one year.
Bobby and Marvin signings are about bringing back some depth while kicking the can down another season. The Mix signing is a solid one. While the Raps obviously did not have the offseason they were hoping for, they didn’t do any damage either and can try again next season. Mix is a solid scoring addition for this season though.
2034 182 Lakers Sign SF Julius Avery for $10,000,000 over one year.
Solid player. I guess the Lakers will try and see what they can get out of him in a deal. Cavs would be an interesting eventual landing spot for Avery.
2034 182 Jazz Sign C Jarrett Allen for $11,000,000 over one year.
Surprised JA is still around. Also surprised the Raps didn’t offer him a big 1 yr deal (unless they did and he just didn’t sign). Still a solid big man who helped the Jazz reach the finals this past season he should still provide good D and great rebounding.
2034 182 Celtics Sign C Bob Prewitt for $5,000,000 over one year.
Trade filler to acquire Mike Smith. Sorry Bob, that’s all you are.
2034 182 76ers Sign SF Adama Bal for $4,500,000 over one year.
2034 183 76ers Sign PG Bronny James for $65,136,069 over 7 years.
Let’s start with Bronny. I don’t totally mind the salary. The 7 years is a rough part though. While he might not play out the 7, it’s not wild to think he’ll hit 6. You obviously don’t want players to decrease much in TC but if Bronny’s rebounding suffers even more, it might be a bit annoying to try and move him. Eventually. As for Bal, it’s whatever. Decent role player for the MLE. Do think the 76ers should’ve targeted a big more so then another wing but whatever.
2034 182 Hawks Sign PG J.L. Parks for $15,000,000 over 3 years.
2034 182 Hawks Sign C Jalen Lewis for $10,000,000 over one year.
