1. Bob Pettit over Richie Guerin. Would you have done the same or would you have went with Guerin?
Braz - I think you gotta go Bob but Richie looks so good. Already a top player. Let’s see in 3-4 years who’s more valued. Seems bigs are all the talk right now.
greeme - 1. Bob petit. Then. Now. And forever
2 years left - I would have taken Pettit probably, though I kind of preferred Guerin. Being in CY makes it hard to pass up an easy B+ B+ B+ big though. Long term I think Pettit will still be more valuable.
hf - Honestly Bob was always the right pick even if Richie looked amazing. I would have taken bob as well. I actually don’t think you could of gone wrong with either of the top 2.
2. Dukes and Guerin is a pretty nasty 1-2 punch. Where should the Sonics go from here?
Braz - they should start to look to add talent where possible with their million assets. They can likely control the cap market and build a good team. Clearly no one gunna sign there.
greeme - 2.keep on tanking on. They need a pg and they need a big time shot blocker.one by tanking and one in fa. Then fill in the holes
2 years left - Trying to win now then abandoning ship if it goes poorly mid season isn’t a bad idea. Time to start thinking role players and finding a good PG. Just trying to bottom out might not be the best idea, disappointing he wasted all his cap again. Lot of steals were there for the taking.
hf - They need to keep on the path they are. Tank one more year and use their cap this offseason to improve all around. They have a good future.
3. 76ers Vs Celtcs. Break Vs Lums. Both appear to have had subpar drafts. Who is in a better position currently to make their eventual CY?
Braz - both teams look awful. Can’t imagine either are currently set up to win much of anything. Break has more picks and a chip on his shoulder. Lumley for some reason keeps talking about Cade.
greeme - 3.good question. Both teams suck. You could put them together and the combined team would suck. Celts have break running them so they have abette chance of getting cyd
2 years left - Feels weird to say break but I think he is slightly more competent at this point. Lumley has no idea what he’s doing ever and just gets bullied into deals. Guess you can say the same about break. I don’t like either of their odds without lotto luck.
hf - Idk. Both are in pretty bad shape think lums wasted his first year of tanking and break wasted his picks early even if this draft sucks. I say they get CYd together.
4. Who dropped too far in the draft and who was picked too high?
Braz - I’d say slick coulda gone higher. Too early for me to hate on much of anything. Eddie took a guy who looked raw but turned into Harry G
greeme - 4.kraak dropped too far. He won't be a high end star but he can start from day 1.Daubenschmidt went about 30 spots too high. Really a horrible player
2 years left - For later picks I thought Norman Pott and my own Al Bianchi fell a bit too far. Mattick was a bizarre reach. Henry Pileofshit being the first second taken was confusing until today when he said he didn’t know he had notes.
hf - Solly Thomas dropped way too low. I think he will be an awesome guard eventually. Bob Mattick was a 20 ranged pick and he got selected 7. So I will go with Bob
5. We have 3 CY teams this season. Rank them from most likely to least likely to make it.
Braz - Lakers, Cavs, blazers. Lakers team is stacked, cavs have Steve making DCs and I think blazers make it but kuminga takes up a lot of $ limiting cy moves perhaps. Pre didn’t look great for them.
greeme - 5.cavs make it easy. So do the Lakers. Only team that might not make it is Don but too many people won't let that happen.my guess is they all make it
2 years left - Ok obviously I have bias but I don’t think these rankings are too crazy!
1. Cavaliers — I’ve been burned before but we are looking like a 20 stock team with ok rebounding and some good wing scorers. Need to see a few sims but we might be better than even I expect. Or maybe I’ve just lost it.
2. Lakers — They look pretty good but are getting overhyped. Or maybe not. Where are the steals? Too many volume starters. Idk. Leave me alone.
3. Blazers - Only one I think will be leaving us this season. Pretty brutal roster to take into your CY. Maybe I’m being too harsh but I’m not betting my CY on Loy Doty carrying.
hf - 1.Lakers -don and vik is enough
2.Cavs- TT, Saul, Avery, Cyril. They should win 50.
3. Blazers- easily the toughest road out of all 3 but still think they have a solid team and should be able to make it easily.
6. On a betting site, you have The Suns and Heat or the Field. Who you taking to win the BBS title? Where you placing your money on?
Braz - both strong returning teams but let’s go with the field. Hope someone trades in to give hope for a new champion. Hawks my guess.
greeme - 6.field. too many things can happen. I think the kings have the best team but they won't win.
2 years left - The field easily. Too much randomness in the playoffs plus they both aren’t crazy teams. Didn’t the Suns win 49? They weren’t even a top 5 favorite.
hf - I got the Bulls winning it all. So I’m taking the field.
7. The Spurs just traded for Jalen Lewis. How much better does this make them?
Braz - does this mean they have 3 or 4 total players? Lol
Who knows. Royal gotta rebuild id say.
greeme - 7- 4-5th seed. Without him 6-7th seed. A little better but not much
2 years left - I would have gone for more depth instead of just one player but yeah it makes them better. Not sure how much better than mid 40s wins though. There is a ceiling to a team with 8 rookie mins and it’s not very high.
hf - They had rookie FAs starting last year and have the best trio of stars in the league. They should win 50 easily.
8. The Pistons have Coleman, Sharman and Arizin as wings. Who should be voted off the island and for what?
Braz - everyone just wants Paul. Not a market for SG that will return what he’s want. He’s kinda stuck or he will do something to get worse.
greeme - 8- arizan's stats went down and Sherman's ratings went down. Gms will try to get them cheap. If they can't get full value they should just hold them.ideally they should move Coleman so they don't have to deal with a resign
2 years left - Sharman should have been gone a long time ago. No idea what he’s doing. So many solid bigs signed for peanuts and he gave two scrubs 4M each. What is going on here??? Either play Arizin SG or deal him it’s pretty simple.
hf - Sharman should of been dealt as soon as he signed. He needs a big so he needs to probably lose some value in a deal for bigs.
9. Focusing on your team, how was your offseason?
Braz - not great but we were limited in our resources. Cloud is back so that’s all that matters tbh.
greeme - 9- didn't do anything and tc sucked so not good. I just want to move everybody and start again but I'll probably just end up with the 12th pick and waste a year
2 years left - I did not like overpaying Cyril but had to remove all risk of losing him. With that said, I loved my off-season. Keeping Avery was another key heading in and his contract is affordable. Sadowski for the LLE was great value and I added ZZ Clark who just did 25 ppg with 2 topg in pre on a two year vet min. Love it. Only iffy move was Embry but a 10 rpg 3 to 1 stock ratio big for MLE as the worst move ain’t bad. Bianchi is cool too.
hf - Loved it. Added Harry Gallatin and brought Swails back. Hope to continue to improve. Need a point guard and shooting guard but we can be patient with the guys we have.
10. Looking forward, what’s the outlook for the next few seasons?
Braz - seems like leagues in a great place. I think itl only get better as the seasons go on and we get closer to the 70s. Talent only going to get better with Bill coming in
greeme - 10 - probably getting cyd in 4 yrs
2 years left - Not that great. I figure this roster has maybe two runs in it before I have to move Terrell. We’ll see how things go. Only worried about this season for now.
hf - We should be successful for the next decade if I build it right.
