Nah- the prior playoff expansion technically was the addition of a 2nd wild card team. We won the division- so yeah, the reshuffling of divisions back in 94 was the reason why we made it because 3 division champs, etc, but the amount of times we had the best record in the 90s-2000s and would have gone straight to an NLCS/WS and instead got knocked out by the team that got hot is crazy Was nice to be the team that got hot at the right time, for once. ah yeah forget they won the division. I was thinking more about how they had the worst/second worst regular season record in the entire playoffs Yeah- the East was BRUTAL this year. Everybody beat up on each other. Braves really did get hot at the right time though. Eddie Rosario turning into Mickey Mantle was not expected. Hell, the fact we even made the playoffs after Acuna got hurt was absurd. |

Yep- 2001. Ichiro's rookie year. God, watching Ichiro in his prime was so fun. would've definitely broke pete rose's record if he played here his entire career Oh no doubt. He was just so damn consistent. |

One of the greatest ballplayers I ever saw live was prime Ichiro. He could put the ball wherever he wanted and with his speed- normal groundouts were infield hits for him. He was also an incredible fielder too.
Just a complete ballplayer and rightfully an absolute legend in Japan.
