I was lucky enough to reach out to 3 of our beloved GMs, all of whom are in the BIG EAST. It was a good chat where I of course asked about trades, the league and even got offered some deals! woooo calm me down
Thank you Play Galo and nybombers3 this one had me laughin.
1. What’s your favorite type of trade to make ?
Play - no trades but since I have to answer, a rebuilding trade that nets me rebuilding pieces.
nybombers3 - Hm. Idk. Blockbusters are nice but those deals where you get a struggling player and can increase his value. Those are the deals.
Galo - Lately, I just like getting good value in trades. It’s difficult when you sell off sometimes and try to rebuild and retool. But you get some 1sts and some prospects and hope for some luck that it works out.
2. Are you a believer in rebounding or stocks as more important
Play - Rebounding is more important. Its the reason why I wanted a rebounding rule in place. The maximum rebounding for a SG is B or B-. So why should a player with a higher rebounding grade be allowed to play there if they have no stipulations. It makes no sense and Spencer just let that shit fly.
nybombers3 - I belive in rebounding tbh. Not to say that blocks or steals aren't important but getting possession of the ball is always nice.
Galo - I’m a boards guy. With that said, I think you need both stocks and boards to build an effective winner. You can have an elite stocks team I feel like and still be pretty mediocore imo.

3. If you could +3 anyone on your team with a freebie who and where
Play - +3 to Dick Groat's handling. Self explanatory
nybombers3 - Bob Pettit. +3 inside. Why not? Make him a beast scorer. The rest of his game will come.
Galo -Probably go with Dolph Inside? Not sure, I just got Ramsey too so maybe give him +3 inside as well? Tough question.
4. How do you feel about the cy teams more than halfway in
Play - all 3 teams will make it. Glad DB bounced back and figured it out. He needs to stay away from big ass contracts going forward. Lakers are sliding at the moment. Spurs, Mavs, and Wolves could make it difficult for them down the stretch.
nybombers3 - Cavs are set. Lakers should be fine. I think Blazers ultimately will be ok but I think they need one more move to secure things.
Galo -Always felt the Cavs and Lakers were going to be okay after their off-seasons barring injuries. Dan has cut it closer than comfort as I didn’t like his team construct going into opening day but he’s made some deals that should get him there. Kind of similar from last time he was in CY and he went on a big run at mid-season.
5. Who is your title favorite
Play - The Bulls. Barring injury. I'm 100% confident in my team getting it done this year.
nybombers3 - I think the Heat. I can't truly put one team above the rest. Nuggets are nice. Grizz are red hot. Cavs and Heat look good in the east if I had to pick one I'll go with the team that's done it I guess.
Galo - Miami looks elite to me still but maybe Cavs or Bulls get hot in the postseason. I guess Denver and Sacramento are the best in the West but I can see a darkhorse there like Memphis or Utah coming out as well.

6. Remove the love for point guards this game has, who’s the mvp?
Play - Mack Drexel or Red Rocha, these are the 2 best non PG players in the league. I wish Rocha was more efficient on the offensive side of the ball. Eppa Rixey is a right behind those guys. Send offseason offers!!
nybombers3 - Still think it's Cloud. He'll be an MVP candidate until he retires. He's easily the most Valuable dude around.
Galo -I would say Cloud since technically he’s at SF. Aside from him though, I really like Eppa on Chicago. Guy is pretty flawless as a top wing.
7. Who’s the least valuable player
Play - Jalen Mbala. I Used to love him but hes not worth that contract at all.
nybombers3 - Why is Wendell Carter Jr still here? Fucking guy needs to leave.
Galo -Zaine Winscott? I still remember how happy Ahsan was when Zaine fell to his lap at No. 4 and then the disappointment when he saw the turnover machine he got. He’s never shaken off his turnovers either but good tanking player I guess.
8. High level thoughts on draft? Seems like Marty isn’t happy!
Play - Retro drafts have been very iffy. Andy article exposed how bad the late part of the lotto usually is. Spencer is very iffy with giving out potential to players. He thinks 75 is elite potential for certain players. I do like this upcoming draft though. Would love to acquire KC Jones. Twyman, Jones, Gola, Stokes and Sparrow look very solid. TRADE KC JONES TO THE CHICAGO BULLS
nybombers3 -Interested to see how Jones sims and how he gets camped. Looks like a pretty solid draft especially regarding role players.
Galo -Looks pretty good at the top. KC and Stokes should be elite guys from day one. After that, it’s anyone’s guess but I’m sure Spence made some surprises.
9. Trade or troll- when you get fed up with a player sometimes you put them on the block but don’t do anything. What is something that would cause you to force a deal?
Play - I try my hardest not to force trades but if I really want to rebuild and the offers aren't coming in. I will search out for a trade and try to get a deal done even if I know that the deal isn't a good one for me(see Curry and John Collins). Steve and Galo are always fucking up my blocks with that Cap shit.
nybombers3 - So a Play ? Idk. Sometimes the feeling just hits and a deal seems right even though it's not.
Galo - Interesting question. Typically, I don’t rush to deal unless there’s a really good reason for tanking and/or I need to dump the player for salary purposes. Rushing into deals sometimes backfires in the end.
10. Offer me a deal!
Play - Ward Williams and Ike for Garuba, Ernie Stump and Domingo for Church
nybombers3 - We played around and did this last night. Couldn't get past 2nd base. Still have blue balls.
Galo -We just made one! Rollins, Ed Smith, NY 37 1st for Mazza? Idk.
Totally would have done that trade if i didnt dump the stump. Church. Love that fella
