I'd be OK with teams tanking 4+ years if the GM is active. Tanking for 7 years is an exaggeration. That didn't happen in leagues before the contract year. At some point you'll have too much talent to tank. No one is going to draft top 3 for 5 years in a row.
There's not enough new GMs to support the contract year system. We are literally rotating the same group of GMs.
Marty is probably getting CY'd and then he'll be on the waitlist.
These teams are in their 3rd year:
Celtics
76ers
Rockets
Warriors
Sonics
It's entirely possible every 1 of those teams are in their CY next year. We are going to be in trouble when we are staring down firing 2-3 GMs with just Marty to take over.

I've been to the finals 3 times how many gms even been once? no you haven’t Pretty sure one of those runs I knocked out your shitty team. Lost both finals by 1 point in game 7 and to injuries |

And in theory if someone did tank they would eventually improve. The other side is ppl who have good players and make tank DCs. That would just need more emphasis I guess |
