With TC come and gone, lets take a look at some of the biggest gainers
Earle Markey PRE TC Bucks SG 22 2 C B C C C- B 5
Earle Markey POSTTC Bucks SG 22 2 C A- C+ B- C- B 5
Wait...so this is his third TC, and he went +5 out of nowhere, 2 up inside, 1 handles, 2 defense. Did the bucks likee camp him or something? Nope. Well, hes played 1 game, scored 4 points in 8 minutes on 100% shooting. Think thats gonna get ruined. really weird.
Larry Costello PRE TC Celtics PG 24 1 C+ A- B C+ C- B 5
Larry Costello POSTTC Celtics PG 24 1 B- A A- B- C- B 5
Just a casual +5, +10 since he entered the league, Rookie of the year, averaged 27 PPG and goes +5, thats kinda scary.
26 points, 2.6 turnovers as a rookie, 2.6 suggests some really nice handles.
So he tops out as the 13th best PG in the league? Bad D/boards/steals. Handles seem good, not elite. Volume seems good, not elite. Won't really help a team much.
nvm, not gonna help a team.
Tom Ackerman PRE TC Timberwolves PG 22 3 C B+ A- B- D+ A 4
Tom Ackerman POSTTC Timberwolves PG 22 3 C A- A B C- A 4
Pretty decent TC here, up 1 outside, handles, defense, rebounding, across the board improvements. The downside is, leftover fa type on a min deal. Not likely a starter based on the limited action we have seen of him, but maybe a pretty servicable backup right now, and who knows, maybe TC is looking up.
Gene Shue PRE TC Rockets PG 24 1 B- B B C+ C A 4
Gene Shue POSTTC Rockets PG 24 1 B- A- B+ B- C A 4
Im happy with this one outta Shue, up 2 outside, 1 handles and 1 defense is a nice jump. Can settle into an outside offense a bit better now in year two. B A scoring is not out of the realm of possibility, though camps are pretty well used up, think I have on RC and the +1 left.
Jack Twyman PRE TC Hornets SF 21 0 B B- C C+ C+ A 4
Jack Twyman POSTTC Hornets SF 21 0 B+ B C B- B- A 4
Made the right pick at #3 here, a good all around player ratings wise, will like to see him sim, and Stokes sim, but maybe with the benefit of hindsight a better pick than stokes...though stokes is a sure thing.
John Miller PRE TC Clippers PG 20 0 C C C+ B+ C B 4
John Miller POSTTC Clippers PG 20 0 C+ C B A- C B 4
promising signs for the rookie PG the clippers took 14th overall. He isnt supposed to be a scorer, no 3 point shot, up inside to C+, handles 2 and Defense one helps get him to where he can contribute. Need to see him sim, take care of the ball and rebound.
Dick Ricketts PRE TC Raptors C 22 0 C+ C C- B C+ B 4
Dick Ricketts POSTTC Raptors C 22 0 B- C C- A- B- B 4
The light gamble paid off here, Ricketts already jumping +4 in TC one to look servicable. Needs a bit more time and work, and need to see how the sim goes, but cant complain about that.
Buzz Wilkinson PRE TC Rockets SG 23 0 C+ B+ B+ C D+ A 4
Buzz Wilkinson POSTTC Rockets SG 23 0 B- A- B+ C+ C- B 4
I really didnt want to make this pick, but it was clearly best value based on Notes at #5, and boy am I glad I did. +1 Inside, +1 outside, +1 Defense, +1 rebounding, and pre TC was already 85+ Inside and Jump Shot. Used 8 points on handles pre tc, but a lot of room to improve Buzz here.
Elmer Behnke PRE TC FA C 26 4 C B+ C B- C D 3
Elmer Behnke POSTTC FA C 26 4 C A- C B C+ D 3
uhhhhhh, ok, well, in FA sitting out there is Behnke, going +3 in TC, without a team. Self motivated there. +1 outside, defense, rebounding. Weird center, weirder that TC hit.
Richie Guerin PRE TC Super Sonics SG 23 1 B+ A- B+ B+ C+ A 3
Richie Guerin POSTTC Super Sonics SG 23 1 A- A- A- A- C+ A 3
Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Stud, Up inside Handles Defense to get to the A- A- A- A- C+. Outstanding ratings, looks great. Not much else to say here.
Ken Flower PRE TC Rockets PG 20 2 C C+ B- B- D+ A 3
Ken Flower POSTTC Rockets PG 20 2 C C+ B+ B D+ A 3
Its his third TC, and he has needed all of them Ken Flower PG 6'1'' 185 18 C C+ C C D+ A Thats +3 more, a total of +7. Still has all his camps left, but still needs more like this. Just turned 20 though so maybe, just needs oine of the year 4 booms.
Dick Knostman PRE TC Mavericks C 24 2 C+ C C- B- B- C 3
Dick Knostman POSTTC Mavericks C 24 2 B- C C- B B D 3
I mean, +3 to look like a serviceable backup is nice, might see more than the 4.6 mpg in 5 games he has seen so far. Sim will tell the tale on that one.
Bob Speight PRE TC Wizards SF 25 2 B C+ C C+ C B 3
Bob Speight POSTTC Wizards SF 25 2 B+ C+ C B- C+ B 3
Speight goes +1 inside, Defense, Rebounding, looking dangerously close to somebody usable, which is a lot more than could be said pre tc. Looks like he has all his camps available, interesting.
Ron Perry PRE TC Bulls PG 20 1 B- B- B+ B C- A 3
Ron Perry POSTTC Bulls PG 20 1 B B- A- B+ C- A 3
Up Inside 1, Handles 1, Defense 1. Real question is the handles, which were the big question mark coming in. Per 36 for last years limited minutes showed around 3.4, so the hope is those improved. Still, always good to see a good TC at 20 for somebody that entered the league in the 17/18/19 window, given potential can jump all over for them.
Buzz Bennett PRE TC Wizards SF 20 1 C+ B- C+ B+ C+ B 3
Buzz Bennett POSTTC Wizards SF 20 1 C+ B C+ A- B- B 3
Must be something about players named Buzz, a solid TC at 20 for Buzz, up outside 1, Defense 1, Rebounding 1, looks like a plus rebounder at SF, at the very least a decent role player, darned good out of a second rounder.
K.C. Jones PRE TC Bucks PG 23 0 C+ C B+ B+ C+ A 3
K.C. Jones POSTTC Bucks PG 23 0 B- C+ A- B+ C+ A 3
Hey look, an outside shot has appeared. Just wanna see that get to like, B, and given what we know about his already sky high inside/jump shot/handles/quicks/stocks, yeahhhhhhhhhhh. Up inside Outside and Handles overall, great for PG's.
Howard Sessums PRE TC Hornets PG 24 0 B- B- B- C C C 3
Howard Sessums POSTTC Hornets PG 24 0 B B- B C+ C B 3
Man a lot of PG's had good TC's. Pig mentioned that Sessums was near B on inside/outside, and he got the inside portion of it. Figure camping might bring the outside, but as of now, Up inside, Handles, Defense and a jump to show B potential is promising.
Corky Devlin PRE TC Bucks SG 24 0 C B+ C- C D+ B 3
Corky Devlin POSTTC Bucks SG 24 0 C B+ C C+ C- C 3
Who is this. 2nd round pick for the bucks, as if they need more with Pettit and KC...up handles, defense, rebounding, so not some huge jump, but still nice to see for the 11th overall pick in the second round. Plus is always good there, cheap depthj.
