New York Knicks – 11-0
The Knicks are playing incredible right now. They are 11-0. No losses. Lets talk about some of their top players. They are being lead by A.L. Bennett and Loy Doty. Bennett is a great scorer with tremendous volume. The guy is shooting 49% and 43% from three. Also, he is a great defender. I love the contract too. Bennett is a great player. Loy is killing it too. He is putting up 32.7 ppg. 46% from the field. The three point shooting isn’t too good though. Knicks also have old man Scottie Barnes who is still playing incredible ball. 20 ppg at 36 years old is kind of a big deal. The contract might be a bit bad though but its all good the Knicks havent lost a game. Their bigs’ don’t score allowing the scorers to score more. Their bigs’ just rebound and defend. Marcus has some blocking ability to him. Solomon is a nice rebounder. Very good team with a very good plan of action. I like it.
Chicago Bulls – 11-4
Next is the Bulls. These guys can score. Not alot of defence though but the offence is elite. They have three players at 20+ ppg. Eppa Rixey III is putting up 27.6 ppg. Thats some good volume. The turnovers are very low too. He is also a very good defender. He is putting up 49% field goals and 44% three point percentage. Next they have Dick Groat who is another elite shooter. He is putting up 24.4 ppg. The three point shooting percentage is pretty low though. They have three very good shot blockers in Bassala, Mateen and Usman. Bassala is putting up a double double at 21.8 and 13.5 rpg. Lastly, Eric Church is putting up 19.9 ppg and they have Red Owens off the bench putting up 16.5 ppg. This is a very elite scoring team. I like it. They are pretty similar to the Knicks team who are 11-0.
Cleveland Cavs – 11-4
Another 11-4 team. This team is even better on offence compared to Bulls. As a team they are putting up 135.1 ppg. Thats alot of scoring. They have three players at 20+ ppg like Bulls but the difference is that their bench scores too. Saul Mariaschin is putting up 26.2 ppg and 9 apg. He is shooting efficiently too. Then they have Jordan Marks who is putting up 25.5 ppg. Both having very low turnovers which is big because they are the main scorers for the Cavs. Alex Groza is also putting up 20+ ppg. He is putting up 21.5 ppg and 12.4 rpg. Groza is also an elite shot blocker at 3.1 bpg. Chad and Hannum are also putting up good shot blocking numbers. They have four players off the bench putting up double digit scoring numbers too. This is a very good scoring team. They are decent defenders. They obviously have a plan and the plan is working for them.
Miami Heat – 9-3
Another top scoring team but i think they are pretty good defensively too. They are putting up 127.7 ppg as a team. Thats pretty good. They have a 30+ ppg scorer in Noble Herrero. He is putting up 30.9 ppg. Noble is number 7 on the scoring list. Noble is an elite shooter with great volume plus he is a respectable defender. His percentages are very good too. Very very good player. The Heat also have Elias Bauer putting up 29.9 ppg and 11.3 apg. The turnovers aren’t too bad also. The percentages aren’t as good as Noble but he is still a great player. They have Mel Hutchins who is a very good big. Mel is a really good scorer, defender and rebounder. He is putting up 22.7 ppg and 10.6 rpg with 2.1 blocks. Thats pretty good. Heat also have Marques putting up 3.1 blocks per game. Heat have a pretty good team. Hopefully they can keep up their good play.
Indiana Pacers – 10-5
Pacers are 10-5 so far in the season. They are scoring 129.7 ppg as a team but allowing 123.1 ppg. That means they don’t really have a good defence compared to the other teams ahead of them. But lets assess. They have four players putting up 20+ ppg. Cylde Lovellette is putting up great numbers with 27.2 ppg and 15.2 rpg. Thats alot of rebounding. Dwight Swails is putting up 27 ppg. He is a decent defender and solid rebounder at small forward. Lew Hitch is putting up 23.2 ppg. They defence isn’t too good though. Solid player though. Their point guard Jimmy Darden is pretty good too but a below average defender. Nonetheless the Pacers are winning so hopefully they can keep it up. They are close to HC so they can’t really add anymore players which sucks. But they should be a playoff bound team.
Atlanta Hawks – 9-5
As we get lower in the standing the team scoring gets lower it seems. Hawks is putting up 122 ppg as a team and allowing 117.5 ppg. Nonetheless they are a good team. They are being led by Elijah Risher who is putting up 28.4 ppg and 7.8 rpg at small forward. Thats good numbers. Dezmond Davis is a nice double double player also. He is putting up 14.8 ppg and 12.4 rpg but not really a shot blocker. They have Amos and Rizzo for that. Dick McGuire is putting up 20.6 ppg and 1.9 tpg. Nice numbers. He is also a decent defender too. Ernie Beck is their shoot guard. He is a nice shooter with solid defence. Tex and Boven coming off the bench and putting up double digit scoring numbers. Hawks have a good team but not as strong as the other teams at the top of the East.
Orlando Magic – 6-5
This team can score that’s for sure. They are putting up 130.5 ppg as a team but the defence is the problem. They are allowing 124.2 ppg. Frank Ramsey is giving the Magic 29.5 ppg. Pretty good numbers. The turnovers are low too. But the percentage are out of this world. Ramsey is a very good scorer. Alfred McGuire is also putting up 25.9 ppg but 4 tpg. Thats not that good. Dolph Schayes is nice though. 18.4 ppg and 12.3 rpg with 3.8 bpg. Dolph is number 2 on the bpg list. They also have Kuminga and Yardley who are nice scorers. I don’t know about this team. I’m not feeling confident about them. Lets see how they play in the next couple of sims.
Washington Wizards – 5-6
The first team under 500. This team is not good compared to the rest. They only put up 112.5ppg and allow 111.5 ppg. They are lead by Louis and Watson offensively. Louis is putting up 20.5 ppg and Watson is at 22.5 ppg. The turnovers are a bit high for Watson. They have Martray putting up a double double at 15.5 ppg and 12.5 rpg. Gross is giving them 12.3 rpg. They have a decent team but i doubt this team makes it out of round one if they make it to the playoffs. We will see what happens.
