Welcome league members! We have an RT with beloved GMs Andy, Jah, Steve B and Eduardo!
1. Marty just passed his CY! Never a doubt from any of us. Any words of advice on what he should do next with that team?
hf Try to get his picks back and rebuild. Going to be tough though as he has a lot of older players
Stevie B I think he’s going to try and tread water because I’m not sure he will be able to get both of his picks back. I think Doty would’ve been capable, but now that his picks are on different teams’ rosters, it’ll make things tougher. If he can’t get his picks back, then that’s the right play for Marty. It’ll suck to be mediocre, but it’s essentially his only option.
jahallstar He should really do everything possible to get his picks back. He is pretty much maxed out cap wise with 7 players going into next year. 5 of those 7 players are on the wrong side of 30 years old. It is hard to imagine he will be better next year than he was this year. And this year he was the #10 seed.
nybombers3 Just try and stay afloat right now tbh. I'd say get his picks back but idk. Loy is his best asset i think and not sure which of the teams that has his pick would give it back. I think they can hover around 42 for the next few seasons.
hf I think they both make it. Lums has excellent assets this offseason and break has some good pieces like Kerris Jax Costello.
Stevie B It’s incredible to me that Break is back in CY this quickly. Felt like yesterday he was getting CYd for the 3rd or 4th time…whatever it has been. For Break, he once again needs bigs. How does this guy continue to always have a dearth of bigs entering his CY? With Lums, it’s scary to see how few assets he has going into this CY. Like he needs everything. He needs to have lotto go his way in a badddddd way. With Jr. tanking for him, this does give him some hope. Imagine if Lums landed the top 2 picks! I think Break should make it, but he needs to utilize his 1sts in a smart manner. No guarantee of that with him. For Lums, I can’t give an answer yet because lotto will really swing his chances.
jahallstar Break should have been able to put together a team to make it this year. Costello and Bryant was a great backcourt. He should be able to package together something to get himself a front court upgrade and be able to make the playoffs next year. It is Break though so nothing is a given. Lums is pretty much starting from scratch. He does have max cap space and 2 high draft picks. He will probably have to move those picks for proven talent. If he gets the #1 pick he will be fine. If he drops he might be in trouble. He may be better off trading his 1st before the lotto to give him a guaranteed return.
nybombers3 Both? Not high. I think the Celtics should've pushed to reset this year. Looking at teams in the East that are tanking, you may have 1 to 3. After that it's likely everyone else will try to win. With 4 CY teams overall, moves need to be made ASAP.. I want to belive the 76ers are in good shape but they really need lotto luck. Otherwise it's going to be an uphill climb.

hf He needs to get some older cheaper studs like ant Edwards in order to make it. I think he can do it.
Stevie B Not even going to bother asking this question. He hasn’t been a GM here for quite some time.

jahallstar Wow JR needs to do a lot of work. He is desperate for a big time rebounder. He has no picks or cap going into this offseason coming off 26 wins. It will be hard to make up 16 games. I don't think he can have a D , D+ , C rebounding 1-2-3. He has to find a rebounding wing to pair with Hudson. An Earl Lloyd type?
nybombers3 Is JR around and willing to make it work? If not then ww might as well replace him now. He has assets but nothing great. Going to have ba put a solid team around Hudson and hope for the best.
hf Every team should be trying to win championships and if 42 wins is a highlight of your franchise that’s pretty sad.
Stevie B For GMs like Break it really is just that, lol. But I do get what you’re saying. I also think some GMs just want a reset so it keeps their options open as far as rebuilding. As a guy who was once labeled 45 Win Steve as a joke, I hate being in that range. If I’m competing, I want to win 50+ and have legit swings at a championship.
jahallstar Well it is pretty much survive to fight another day. I'm sure nobody is happy with just 42 wins. However when you are in your CY it gives you a chance to at least fight for higher aspirations in following years. If you get in a car accident you are not happy with a broken arm, but at least you survived and have a chance to heal up and go onto bigger things later!
nybombers3 I think it depends. I do think teams reset just to give them the flexibility to move either way. Others yeah, it means a lot. At the end of the day 42 is that key number we're all happy to hit. That goes for everyone.

hf Bulls. Play has to win the east eventually.
Stevie B Heat are the best team…no doubts about it, BUT I want to go different here. I think the Bulls are awesome as well, however, I really like this Knicks squad when healthy. I think they are a terrifying unit who cause some serious issues throughout their lineup.
jahallstar It really comes down to matchups. I will go with Bulls because the Heat and Knicks will have to fight it out for the right to play the Bulls. I like the Bulls matchup with the Heat. Not so much with the Knicks. The bulls main weakness is they are not elite at protecting the ball. The Knicks take advantage of that much more than the Heat do.
nybombers3 Bulls. Not sure I do think they truly are the favorites but I'll pick them because I want to see Walton succeed.

hf Wolves because then I can sweep bitch ass play in the finals
Stevie B Go Kings!! I think the West is way more wide open than just those 3 teams. I think the Sonics are certainly a scary team now with Fisher on board. I also think the Nuggets are serious threat. I don’t understand why they were so damn average…was it depth? I’m not sure since I wasn’t particularly paying attention, but that was an underwhelming regular season for them. I’m still not counting them out, though. Anyway, go Kings!
jahallstar Ehh I kinda think the Nuggets have the best team in the west. I haven't looked at their DC but they have the best backcourt in my opinion and have Ellison in the frontcourt. Not sure why they didn't at least win 50 games.
nybombers3 Have a feeling the Kings make the finals this yr. I do think the Nuggets are underrated in this aspect and they will likely make va run as well.
hf It’s going to be up there. Russell comes in as a prime elite big. He is going to be amazing. Elgin looks insane. Love both guys.
Stevie B Like this question. They certainly should be based on paper, but we shall see. One draft had Barksdale and Rocha go 1-2. That’s pretty damn nice!
jahallstar It is up there. Russell should be the best big ever in the league from the looks of it. Baylor will stuff the stats. His D might not be great but the numbers will look amazing.
nybombers3 I think I said it already. This top 5 is likely the best top 5 ever. We did another draft where a few guys could've gone 1 (Kswhi draft) but I think up top this will top that.

hf Don’t really know the top prospects like that but I like the Ivey kid and I know Chet will be a top pick. Jabari is nice too
Stevie B
Stevie B
1. Banchero
2. Chet
3. Ivey
2. Chet
3. Ivey
jahallstar Id probably say Chet , Jabari and Paolo in some order. I don't think there is a real standout #1 overall guy. They all have questions. I know a lot of people are on the Ivey train now too.
nybombers3 Chet, Paolo, Ivey. I guess Jabari instead of Ivey depending on who jumps.
hf Yeah always a bad look but that team was terrible this year. No excuses though.
Stevie B No pass. If you can’t make it at least into a play-in game, then yikes. Bad look.
jahallstar I'm sure the NBA wants the Lakers in the playoffs for ratings. Lebron the GM did a horrible job. Westbrook was a horrible chemistry match for the team. They lost several of their key role players in that deal. I don't really know how this is a bad look for Jordan though. The Goat isn't affected by the Lakers 2022 team.
nybombers3 No pass. You built that team you deal with it. LeBrons legacy won't change much though. He's staying where he's at pretty much.

10. Sport change - mlb is back. Who’s your favorite team and what is your season expectation
hf Yankees and we better take home the crown this year
Stevie B Phillies! Hoping to just make the playoffs. It’s been over a decade now. Need it back in my life.
jahallstar Go O's. This should be the last super rebuild year. Not that we will win 100 games next year, however they will at least try to start winning games. This year we avoid 100 losses with a 63-99 record.
nybombers3 Yankees. Take what you won last yr and add another win or 2. There ya go.
