1. Los Angeles Clippers 18-7
The Clippers are first in the West at 18-7 record. They put up 124 ppg as a team. Thats 6th in the league as team scoring. Nice numbers. Clippers allow 118.9 ppg as a team. Thats around the middle in the league in team ppg allowed. They are a good offensive team. They put up 8.8 bpg. Thats about middle of the league too. They are good at stealing the ball though. They are at 10.6 spg. Thats number one in the league. They are being led by Devereux St. Cloud. Cloud is putting up 34.1 ppg. Thats second in the league in ppg. He is also a great rebounder at the small forward position. Putting up 9.1 rpg. He is also great at stealing the ball at 2.9 spg. Great play by a great player. Carl Braun is also playing nicely for the Clippers. He is putting up 29.6 ppg and 1.8 spg. Very good play by a great scorer. Then you have some solid shot blocking by Sears (2.2 bpg) and Sparrow (2.2 bpg). Louis Leonard is giving Clippers 14.5 ppg in 35 mpg and Sam Jones is giving them 12.1 ppg in 26 mpg. If this team can get another good scorer then watch out. Very good team. Should go far in playoffs.
2. Utah Jazz 17-9
The Utah Jazz are second in the West right now at 17-9 record. As a team they are putting up 123.5 ppg. Thats 8th in the league in scoring. Not bad. As a team they allow 116.4 ppg. Thats around the top part of the middle in the league. They are a good shot blocking team at 10.3 bpg. Thats 5th in the league. The make 7.8 spg as a team. Thats around the bottom half of the middle. This team doesn’t really have a big time scorer but they have alot of good scorers. Bill Sharman is at 21.4 ppg, Anthony Edwards is at 16.4, Jalen Hayes is at 16.3 ppg, Jack George is at 13.7, Tom Heinsohn is at 12.2 and Jim Paxson is at 11.3 ppg. Not bad. If they can get a top scorer then watch out. They have two players at 3+ bpg. Alex Hannum is at 3.2 bpg and Jalen Hayes at 3.2 bpg. Very solid team but i think they can use on nice top scorer to be even more better.
3. Los Angeles Lakers 17-9
Lakers are tied with Jazz at 17-9 but they are third in the West right now. The Lakers are putting up 119.1 ppg as a team. Thats around the bottom half of the middle of the league. They allow 115.8 ppg as a team thats around the top half of the middle. The put up 8.2 bpg as a team. Thats near the bottom half of the middle of the league. They are second last in the league at team steals (6.7 spg). There top two scorers are putting up the same ppg. 27.1 ppg. Dario Stojakovic and J.W. Fullerton are the two players. Both are very good scorers. Then you have Chad Slanters at 14.1 ppg, 12.8 rpg and 3 bpg. Nice numbers for the big. Bon Barksdale is at 19.5 ppg, 11.3 rpg and 2.9 bpg. They have two forwards helping with the scoring; Lorenzo Laboissonmier at 15.2 ppg and Julius Avery at 12.5 ppg. Very nice team. With two very good scorers.
4. Seattle Super Sonics 17-11
The Sonics are fourth in the West right now at 17-11 record. They put up 126.6 ppg as a team. Thats second in the league in team ppg. They allow the second most ppg though at 125.4 ppg. They are up there in shot blocking at 8th with 9.6 bpg. They are near the bottom half in spg at 7.8 spg. They are being led by Richie Guerin who is giving them 28.8 ppg and 8.3 rpg. Then they have Slater Martin who is giving them 25.5 ppg and 11.5 apg. Solid numbers. Elijah Fisher is putting up 23.7 for them at small forward. They have two good big men putting up solid numbers for them too. Walter Dukes is putting up 18.3 pg, 13.5 rpg and 2.6 bpg. Maurice Stokes is putting up 12.9 rpg and 2.9 bpg. Then they have Lavender Grooms putting up 19.7 ppg off the bench. Solid scoring team. They can probably use some more defence though.
5. Sacramento Kings 15-12
The Kings are fifth in the West right now with a 15-12 record. As a team they put up 123.4 ppg and allow 120.7 ppg. They are ninth in team ppg and around the bottom half in opposing team ppg. They are fourth in team bpg with 10.8 and near the bottom in spg with 7.1 spg. They are led by Ed Macauley who is putting up 25.5 ppg and 14.8 rpg with 2.1 bpg. Then you have Koa Peat with 23.7 ppg, 7.7 rpg and 1.9 bpg. Very good numbers for a small forward. Cliff is putting up 18.3 ppg and George King is at 18.5 ppg. They have two nice shot blockers in Brock Call (2.8 bpg) and Calculus Jones (2.5 bpg). Very solid team that is also very well rounded.
6. Minnesota Timberwolves 17-14
The Twolves are currently 6th in the West with a 17-14 record. They put up 121.1 ppg as a team. Thats about the middle in the league in scoring. They allow only 113.5 ppg which is fifth in the league so good defence. They put up 12.1 bpg which is first in the league and 10.3 spg which is second. So, really good defence. Newt Jones leads the team in scoring with 27.2 ppg and 2.6 spg. Nice numbers. Then you have Saul Mariaschin with 25.7 ppg and 1.7 spg. A nice scoring combo for the Wolves. Mel Payton is giving them 20.8 ppg, 12.8 rpg and 3 bpg. Really good numbers. Jack Coleman is at 19.5 ppg and Harry Gallatin is at 16.5 ppg with 11.5 rpg and 3.3 bpg. Eddie Solomon is also giving the Wolves good shot blocking with 2.9 bpg. Solid team with very good defence.
7. Denver Nuggets 14-16
The Nuggets are 7th in the West with a below 500 record at 14-16. They put up 121.4 ppg which is around the middle in the league in ppg. They allow 118.1 ppg which is also around the middle of the league. They put up 9.1 bpg which is again also the middle of the league. They are led by Bob Cousy who is putting up 30 ppg and 1.8 spg. Very good scoring numbers. Then they have Eric Church at 21.4 ppg and 7.5 rpg. Harrison Mix the shooting guard is at 19.9 ppg. Sean Ellison is giving the Nuggets 18 ppg, 12.3 rpg and 3.2 bpg. Very nice numbers. Jalen Lewis is also nice at 12.3 rpg and 1.8 bpg. They have Elijah Felix who is giving them 3.3 bpg. Very solid team. Can use some more scoring though.
8. Houston Rockets 13-15
The Rockets are 8th in the West with a 13-15 record. They are at the bottom half in league scoring at 116.2 and around the middle in opposing team scoring with 118.9 ppg. They are at 8.3 bpg and 8.4 spg. With are both around the middle of the league. They are led by Ricky Francis III who is giving them a big 34.9 ppg which is first in the league. Then they have a bunch of players around the 18 ppg mark. Ray Felix has 18.1, Dick McGuire is at 18.9 and Ron Tomsic is at 18.8. Worm Namdor is giving them 2.8 bpg and Norman Pott is at 2.4 bpg. They also have Monk Meineke at 28.2 ppg and 8 rpg. Very solid team. They could use another scorer.
