Hello fools and welcome to another MOCK DRAFT! We enter the year 2040 and yes, you guessed it, we're still horny! Let's dive into the lotto picks!
1. Golden State Warriors - Hal Greer PG 6'2'' 175 22 B- B C B C A
Spencer's notes: Big potential. Very good scorer, especially inside. Great volume. Good handles. Good steals.
I really don't think there will be an argument against Hal at the number 1 spot in this draft. Coming in with BIG TIME potential, being a very good scorer with great volume is awesome. He will have good handles and get steals. We have seen similar players like Hal in the past. This is what you want out of a number 1 overall selection. He is a lock to come out of this draft as the best player overall. John is starting off fresh with a tank and getting the best player. Good pick!
2. Toronto Raptors - Wayne Embry C 6'8'' 240 21 B- D+ C- B B+ A
Spencer's notes: Big potential. Elite strength. Very good rebounder and inside scorer. Solid stocks. Mediocre midrange game.
Ah, yes. Big Wayne. We need some more ELITE big men in this league. He is going to be a massive rebounder. Looks like his inside scoring will be pretty good as well. I think if you work on his jump shot and probably his handles you will see one of the best bigs in BBS for a long time. Braz will love this pick! Unless he wants to complain about not getting the number 1 overall pick...again! ha! Pairing Wayne with Bill Ebben and the Raptors are starting to build a nice little core out in Toronto. Can't wait to see what kind of numbers Wayne will put up.
3. Chicago Bulls - Connie Dierking C 6'9'' 222 22 B- C C- B- B- A
Spencer's notes: Very good inside scorer, midrange shooter, handles and strength. Also very good at creating steals. Elite post defender.
I think Play goes BIG MAN here. Connie looks very very interesting. Notes call for a massive inside scorer with a good jumper, handles and strength. He can create steals...no blocks tho? And has elite post defense. Very interesting. Could you make a case for number 2 here? Probably not because Wayne has BIG Potential and coming in with a B/B+ D/REB is HUGEEEE. But I love this Connie pick for the Bulls and I think it will compliment the core they're building in Chicago very nicely.
4. Chicago Bulls (From New Jersey Nets) - Adrian Smith SG 6'1'' 180 22 C+ A- C- C D+ A
Spencer's notes: Elite inside scorer and midrange shooter. Very good 3 point shooter with very good handles.
I forgot Play had the Nets' first. Pretty sick god damn! Well I think he goes Adrian here. Pairs Connie and Adrian up and has a lot of good young talent on that roster. DAMN. This guy Adrian is very intriguing. If he's. there at my pick I will probably take him. He is an elite scorer with very good handles. Just need to work on his rebounding but he seems like a fun player. Play may go BIG again but who knows. I like this pick here.
5. Portland Trail Blazers - Dave Gambee SF 6'6'' 215 21 B- B C C+ C+ A
Spencer's notes: Solid scorer, especially from midrange. Good handles. Good rebounder for a wing.
Tough spot here at pick 5. This is where things get interesting. I will select Dave Gambee with the 5th overall pick. Projects to play the 3 but I'm sure you can move him around to the 2. Looks to be a good scorer. Good handles and will rebound the rock well. Hopefully he can develop into a 20+ ppg scorer with NICE rebounding and LOW to's. Not much else you can expect there but it should project to be a good pick for the Blazers and Donald.
6. Los Angeles Clippers - Guy Rodgers PG 6'0'' 185 23 C B- B+ C+ C A
Spencer's notes: Elite quickness. Good passer. Solid handles, midrange and 3 point shot. Good rebounder for a PG.
I think Greeme will take the 2nd best PG out of this class in Guy Rodgers. He looks to be a very good point with good rebounding which is always a plus. Solid across the board with ELITE quickness which could indicate he will be a volume scorer. Time will tell. Getting a guy like Guy at the 6th pick is always a blessing. I think it's a safe pick but one that will hit for Greeme.
7. Phoenix Suns - Don Ohl SG 6'3'' 190 22 B- B- B- B- C A
Spencer's notes: Good jumpshot and quickness. Solid inside scorer, steals and handles. Good passer. 3 point shot is only mediocre.
I'm not sure what year of the tank this is for Andrew but he can snag a really good win right here. Develop his outside shooting some and this is an intriguing prospect. Andrew has some really good bigs and Ernie Beck at the 2 as well, but I think, he takes BPA here and just rolls the dice. Not much else to do in this spot imo. Nothing is really standing out as of right now.
8. Boston Celtics - Shellie McMillon PF 6'5'' 205 22 B B- C- B- C+ B
Spencer's notes: Good inside scorer, jump shooter, handles and quickness. Solid post defense and strength. Some stocks.
Actually a pretty interesting prospect here. Beastly starts off his rebuild with a freebie season and landing a top 8 pick. Shellie has some interesting tools for a big man. Can score, handle the ball and has good defense and strength along with some stocks. Shellie might be a surprise candidate of the lotto.
9. Indiana Pacers - Barney Cable SF 6'7'' 175 23 C+ C+ B A- B- C
Spencer's notes: Solid stocks and rebounds. Solid jumpshot. Mediocre inside scorer.
The Pacers have the bigs and the guards. Now they needs some wings. Barney Cable is a really interesting prospect imo. Love his stocks and rebounds. I think he will be a solid 5th starter on any roster. At this point, you want guys that can help do a little bit of the dirty work and a little bit of everything. I'm getting these vibes for BARNEY. Can hit his FTs, get you stocks and boards. Love it and love this pick. I think he is going to be a solid BBS player.
10. Washington Wizards - Gene Brown SG 6'3'' 175 23 C B+ C+ A C C
Spencer's notes: Solid jumpshot, 3 point shot and handles. Solid stocks. Very good defender.
You really never know what's going on in Washington D.C. I think I will have to say that Jah loves to get these types of players and would be a guy that stays on the Wizards roster for his entire career. Gene is coming in with already very good ratings. He probably doesn't have much potential but he is a good shooter and good stocks. Also he can handle the ball well. He might be a perfect compliment to any team. Backing up the 1-3 this is a good depth piece right here.
11. Toronto Raptors (From Seattle Super Sonics) - Archie Dees C 6'8'' 205 22 B C D+ C C B
Spencer's notes: Very good inside scorer. Good jumpshot, handles, post defense and stocks.
Wow Braz has two lottos as well. Nice! I'm not sure if he will go BIG/BIG with both picks but Archie's notes present another curious character. Very good inside scoring with goods across the board in jumpshot, handles, post d, and stocks. INTERESTING. GOOD stocks at C defense hmmmm. Won't really turn any heads with these ratings. Probably a horrible rebounder but maybe that can be developed. Not a big pick right here even if he ends up being a third big.
12. New Orleans Hornets - Hub Reed C 6'9'' 215 22 C+ C- D+ B- B B
Spencer's notes: Elite strength. Solid stocks and rebounds. Handles and jumpshot are also solid.
OINK OINK. Hornets are on the cusp of the 8th seed right now or being lotto. Oh boy oh boy! I think Pig snags a big man here to help out his already loaded roster. Surprising this team isn't playing better with the talent on it but maybe it needs some more time to develop. Hub Reed comes in with ELITE strength and Solid stocks and rebounds. Really looks like a solid big that will be able to do it all for someone. Definitely a nice pickup for depth and see what he can develop into.
13. New Jersey Nets (From Los Angeles Lakers) - Owen Larson PG 6'0'' 175 21 C+ C+ C+ C C A
Spencer's notes: Pretty mid across. Solid quickness. Good leaper.
Similar to Portland last year not having their first but receiving a lotto pick the Nets' fall into the same boat. Nanz's Lake Show boys are right now a game above .500 but sitting at the 13th overall pick and Marty will reap the benefits. I think he snags Owen Larson here at the 13th pick. A boom/bust type of prospect but I think it's worth the gamble. I don't think I see any other gambles out there like this one that COULD be worth it. Pretty mid across the board but solid quickness is a good start and he has some jumping abilities. Also, coming in with a C rebounding is nice too so maybe he can board.
Thank you for coming by!
