2003 Draft Grades
#1
-Lebron James-
Grade- A+
BREAKDOWN: The GOAT has arrived, no brainer grade here.
#2
-Dwyane Wade-
Grade- A+
BREAKDOWN: Wade was the clear number 2 choice and fits any teams make up. Great player and great pick.
#3
-Chris Bosh-
Grade- B
BREAKDOWN: Me personally felt like Carmelo Anthony was the clear #3. This is all personal opinion, but I think finding another Bosh is easier than getting a 30 PPG scorer. I kind of tried to use reverse psychology to get him to take Bosh and that was his plan all along so it works out.
#4
-Carmelo Anthony-
Grade- A+
BREAKDOWN: Obvious A+, was the last of the big four available and undoubted selection at the time of pick. Looking for big things out of him.
#5
-David West-
Grade- B-
BREAKDOWN: The team moved up which is clutch, but trading up and taking David West after acquiring Shawn Marion was a head scratcher. I view Marion as a PF and I guess the Knicks plan to use him as a SF, either way i think the pick should have been Kirk Hinrich. Can't doubt a man like Skillz though.
#6
-Kirk Hinrch-
Grade- A
BREAKDOWN: I'm biased against Kirk Hinrich, him going at any selection besides top 2 would've warranted a A.
#7
-Chris Kaman-
Grade- C
BREAKDOWN: Do not like the pick at all. Having a front court of Boozer and Kaman is as unathletic as you can get.
#8
-Josh Howard-
Grade- A-
BREAKDOWN: Josh looks really nice and fits with what Toronto has going on. Tony Parker, Jason Richrdson, Josh Howard and Nene are cute as fuck!!! Great drafting by Raptors GM, Game the past couple of seasons.
#9
-Leandro Barbosa-
Grade- B-
BREAKDOWN: Barbosa is going to get buckets at Point Guard, but he will also be a turnover problem. Not the guy I would want leading the way in the year of my CY, but its too late now. Camping is going to be important for Barbosa to turn into a gem.
#10
-Jose Calderon-
Grade- B+
BREAKDOWN: Depending on TC, he may very well be the best point guard in the class. Not a player the Heat have to worry about grooming quick. Having Billups allows them to be patient with Jose and actually see what he's about. I like the pick a lot.
#11
-Mo Williams-
Grade- D+
BREAKDOWN: I don't like the idea of bringing players on board that don't mesh with your star. Mo Williams will flourish in a offense that is outside. Sonics have no business drafting him with Shaq on the top. It doesn't make sense to me and was a bad selection.
#12
-Darko Milicic-
Grade- B+
BREAKDOWN: Darko being 18 helps define this grade. He will benefit so much with his pot boost after 1st TC. Depending on camps, Hornets might of got away with highway robbery. Great Pick!
#13
-Boris Diaw-
Grade- C-
BREAKDOWN: Boris Diaw will be an oustanding backup Point Guard, don't see him being anything more than that.
#14
-TJ Ford-
Grade- A-
BREAKDOWN: Great selection here, wasn't a huge fan of the other two selections by Minnesot, but I enjoy this pick. TJ looks fun, he might not reach his maximum peak due to AC restraints, but I would like to see him after he's camped out and had 2 TCs.
#15
-Zaza Pachulia-
Grade- B
BREAKDOWN: I hate Zaza, but I know Warrior fans love him. Hes a dirty dirty man, but does look promising. Age of 19 makes this pick look even better. Might be one of the better defensive bigs in a couple seasons.
#16
-Mickael Pietrus-
Grade- B-
BREAKDOWN: For a player that played Point Guard at one point, I don't like how his handles are so shit here. I gave this a B- because I think turnovers will be a issue in significant minutes.
#17
-Nick Collison-
Grade- A
BREAKDOWN: Suns locked up a 3rd big that will be ready Day 1. Any time you can get a big man with B rebounding and save camps on other necessities you do it. Great pick.
#18
-Brain Cook-
Grade- D-
BREAKDOWN: You're never really going to give this guy minutes. His turnovers and defense is WOAT tier.
#19
-Kendrick Perkins-
Grade- F
BREAKDOWN: Way too many Centers on the roster already, and Perkins is probably the worse. Don't understand the selection. Poor pick here.
#20
-Kyle Korver-
Grade- A
BREAKDOWN: K² is the perfect pick here, in a team built around the scoring champ you want as many shooters as possible to keep up with his pace. Korver will get buckets, I like it!
#21
-Luke Ridnour-
Grade- C
BREAKDOWN: This felt like just a pick to make really. Hornets will be competing for a ring this season, and Ridnour prob won't be on the team long.
#22
-Steve Blake-
Spots Moved- A
BREAKDOWN: The team needed a Point Guard, and he is the best one left. You're not expecting too much out of him during your tank year and appears to be very decent. Great Pick!
#23
-Maciej Lampe-
Grade- D+
BREAKDOWN: Everyone wants the next great Euro, and i think Sargo is really gambling here on Lampe being it. He may be right, but I'm not buying it. He looks like utter shit. Good thing this team is stacked at Bigs.
#24
-James Jones-
Grade- B+
BREAKDOWN: Might be the best 3 and D guy in the draft shockingly. Always room on a roster for these type of players. I'd just focus on his Defense, don't try to make him more than he is by messing with his inside. Hes a gem in the making.
#25
-Marquis Daniels-
Grade- A-
BREAKDOWN: Honestly I have a wild feeling about this pick here, on paper he looks really intriguing. Hes really capable of being B- B- B after his 1st TC. Keeping a close eye on Quis. Hopefully he has decent pot, camps will do the rest.
#26
-Travis Outlaw-
Grade- B
BREAKDOWN: Travis is one of those players that is pretty decent in all FBB leagues. I like him going this late, I think he will be a solid role player, and good enough for quality minutes.
#27
-Sofolklis Schortsanitis-
Grade- F
BREAKDOWN: Baby Shaq my ass, only thing Shaq related here will be his 40% Free Throws. Not a great pick. Better have going undrafted. I don't think his age of 18 will save him much.
#28
-Mike Sweetney-
Grade- C-
BREAKDOWN: Big Mike Sweetney emphasis on the Sweet, isn't much of a player it appears. Probably could've entertained a shooter like Kapono or Bonner here.
#29
-Nedzad Sinanovic-
Grade- C
BREAKDOWN: Is the Big Z or Mozgov to Lebron!?!?!
