if Rodgers retire, not having Davis 8mil on his roster opens up max cap.
so thats a win for him.
loses a free 16mil in total salary
loses MLE and LLE during upcoming rebuilding seasons
loses 2nd round picks that he never makes anyway.

at least he got the penalty even though its a watered down version because kobe threatned to quit.

Interesting part of this eas I was already setting up a scenario if Kobe quit. Kobe is a very good active GM but he tends to be negative and difficult. The reason I backtracked is the majority of GMs that wanted a full penalty tend to be negative and unreasonable in my eyes. And the GMs that felt it should be a less harsh penalty are guys I tend to agree with. And I thought about that. Something needed to happen but losing 2 1st round picks because you had a fluke set of injuries wasnt why the rule was created. The rule was created to make sure teams didnt take an unfair advantage. Not everything is black and white.
Im happy with the decision. The people the most upset by this decision are people Im comfortable not seeing eye to eye with

Kobe not actually quitting even when spence initially gave him the full penalty = makes me feel like this was the right outcome.
I didn't like that he initially put the burden on spence.
