He didn't go over because of miscalculation on a trade or a signing though.
He had 2 PGs on his roster for a 10 day sim.

If he had 1 PG on his roster and was right at HC, I would say give him the penalty

What if he had 3 PGs on his roster and all of them got hurt?
What if he had 4?

i don't understand having rules and then whenever there's a time to make a tough call, not enforcing them. i get that it sucks and it's no one's fault, but still. Bc 2 guys hurt at the same time is rough. What happens if 3 get hurt?

I'm not saying he should get off wo any punishment but the full hc is rough

here's the rule: if a pg injury after the trade deadline results in you needing to sign a pg and go over the HC, spence signs you a horrible player and you have to start him throughout the playoffs. sound good. move on. THis was in line with what I was considering. And if it is a tanking team we clone oscar

Had this happened to Indy, Nawlins, Washington, GSW, Dallas (those are teams close to HC with only 2 PGs on their roster)

The flip side is he had bad luck but that is the way the cookie crumbles. We don't water down good luck. Kobe has had the 1st pick multiple times and stolen multiple max guys. Should we make a rule that he can get the first pick for the next 20 years

Still like what I suggested , you have to have some responsibility but don't have to go nuts

What this really boils down to is Hc is a rule to prevent a team from using more salary and having more players which would equal an advantage. If someone was running at 80 mil and paid some guy 6 mil instead of 4 that would be a huge issue.
Here kobe added a player who doesn’t give him much of a competitive advantage. But fact is that he decided to have salary add up to very close to 78 mil with his current players.

The fact is that there is a rule which he clearly broke but the rule didn't necessarily take into account this specific situation

Maybe just break the Pg rule and start the worst player on the roster on Pg so they don’t go over hc.

The fact is that there is a rule which he clearly broke but the rule didn't necessarily take into account this specific situation yeah he didn’t do it on purpose or maliciously He did do it on purpose in that he took a calculated risk and it came back to bite him . He knew he had 2 pgs and that if they both got hurt he would go over. He clearly though Spencer would just bail him out in the unlikely chance that happened

Kind of hoping fate makes me do that

I do think in the playoffs we can just choose to forfeit the round and not sign another pg
