Embry/ joe allen/ embry Dorie murrey/ sullivan/ joe allen Cazzie russell/ bob arnzen/ carver clinton Bob brown/ carver clinton/ bob arnzen Loughery/ bob brown/ butler
Ir; eddie jackson
Loughery Embry Cazzie
Very fast Sometimes Sometimes Outside
This is the dc i wAnted to try out.
My reasoning is
- want to up loughery and embry value by showcasing them and seeing what they can do. - loughery has been a good scorer all season so as a higher option thats valid - embry has a bad contract so obviously i would want him to show he can score more than what hes shown since hes a good defender - consistency - ive shown even when winning to plAy with options and see what stuff works. Im not doing anything i wouldnt do. - the best players are playing so i dont see what im doing wrong to make moves to spotlight the guys i wanna move so that i can make my team better
Is this blatant tanking? No
Should it be allowed? Yes
Even if its for a couple sims at least. To see what works or doesnt or how players do when put in certain positions. Thats part of rebuilding too. Now if it was some player that sucked completely then ok but this is in my eyes plausible moves and not blatant tanking.

yeah the whole, "people make shit DCs" and you try to see if a player is good...
then are told you cant do it for a sim just seems bad

The issue is everyone had their own opinions and some people may think x is good or bad. We really don’t know how it will impact.
I love the idea of experimenting especially as you ar rebuilding you likely have so many mid young guys and need to see who to shop and camp. rebuilding here is a drag and that’s bc we call it tanking I guess

There are obvious circumstances tho. Like you shouldn’t be benching your star for a scrub to be worse.

I think teams should be allowed to experiment more after the deadline. Those days are rather boring for tanking teams and teams that clinched already.

Also we had back to back seasons where teams benched a better player to tank. Not sure why this is made a big deal.

I think the main thing to solve. Is what is considered fair experimentation. Tanking teams deserve to have fun and a reason to make changes. how engaged are the gms who posted a dc first day of season and not one optimization?

no need to post all that bullshit about 'experimenting' but it'd be nice if teams were treated equally when pulling stuff like this!

The passive-aggressive comments I expect to show up in this thread are going to be legendary.

This is why having tanking rules is impossible.
No way Loughery or Embry should be an option over Cazzie. Its not close tbh. And im quite sure people wouldve complained about it had i allowed it.

We had allowed "experimenting" with dcs before. The failure point was no one switching it back. I have too much on my plate to remember to re check old dcs to see if they are inadequate. If we allowed for experimentation after the trade deadline that would fix it. Although experimentation foesnt mean bencjing your best players.

Last yr the Nets benching Barnett shouldn't have been ok Obviously not everyone is going to agree and it's hard to find that middle ground to make everyone happy so idk what can really be done.

My comment was about a one sim DC that I put in to see if someone could be a good SG, and moved TVA to super sub. We're constantly told to try things because rating can mean nothing, but during a tank you aren't allowed to try things.

when you are a marginal GM like me, and you look to be able to get your 42 wins, the last thing you wanna do is try something that could cost you 1-3 wins... Tank seasons are the only time to take a chance cause of the CY rules can fuck you over.

People can shop their players for the offseason and it gives tanking teams something to look forward to. Once a player has been in the league for a while you know what he is.

Because some GMs try and cheat under the guise of "experimenting". I dont think anyone is gonna value Embry or Loughery more or less based on how they sim as 1 and 2 options but i do think his team will perform worse. Do i know more about fbb then outlawz? Probably not. Do i know exactly what will happen? No. But experimentinh with DCs should be when youre winning not when youre tanking

Im fine with post deadline experimentation within reason.. Once again Im still having trouble with the argument that somewhow Embry or loughery shiuld be above cazzie in okp.

That's a difficult part because right now it's about options but next time it could be something more borderline. I guess figuring out what that line is and putting it on paper so to speak makes it easier for you in the long run?

Its the same as a frenzy trade or posting for rewards. Some people try and diligently uphold the integrity of the rule..others bend the integrity to get the reward.

Maybe alight dc flexibility as long as the best players are still getting 30mpg
